Malibu Seaside has helped a couple people I know. I was able to meet some of the staff, see the facility and meet the owner. The owner is very nice and his wife is very sweet. They are both caring individuals. Staff and facility were very inviting. Very well informed and you can tell they really do their best for every client.

Malibu Seaside Serenity Cove has been nothing but a great experience this is a place employed with people who care and truly want to see people recover. Located in beautiful Malibu where there is an amazing 12 step meeting at the Zuma Beach people can have a safe, serene environment where they can find sobriety. I would recommend this place to any of my family members and have. Family members of mine have found long lasting recovery all starting with Malibu Seaside Serenity Cove. This is an amazing comfortable environment where you can feel heard and supported throughout the entire process. I am grateful for this place and I hope others are able to find the same gratitude that we have found from my family.

I was attempting to contact Northpoint Recovery Centers, a great place I had been previously, and was somehow connected to recruiters for Seaside... In the state I was in, it wasn't until after I had given all my information, that I learned I was talking to a recruiter, who recruits for locations in California... Similar to another review on here, I was told this was a dual diagnosis facility, and I would have access to a gym, surf lessons, and the doctor four days per week, on top of a prescribing psychiatrist to name a few... Well the doctor would only see us once a week (he accommodated two days due to the information I was fed), and the psychiatrist never even came to the house in my 30 day stay, but prescribed over the phone after talking to the nurse. I don't even think this is legal. There was NO counselor, no psychiatrist on-site, barely even a cook around, minimal access to the doctor, and because there was no counselor, there was also hardly any structured groups. On top of this, we had to practically beg the staff to try to take us to AA meetings, but the kicker is, since they are always trying to bring in new people, and those people have to detox for 7 days, they often don't have the needed staff to take their patients (referred to as "clients" in California - let that one sink in) off site for any sort of recovery activities. Also, there is no facility vehicle, leaving the staff to utilize their personal vehicles to drive their 'clients' around in, which is a huge liability, and often did not work logistically, as we could not fit everyone in the house into one car, so people would either have to stay behind, or we simply could not go anywhere. The icing on the cake, was when I was dropped off at the airport, I missed my flight due to my ride from the facility being late, leaving a freshly recovering alcoholic alone in an airport for HOURS, until I could catch a standby flight... I tried contacting the facility, to no avail... I didn't drink in the airport, but I essentially relapsed directly after getting home, something I have NEVER done before, as I have always been able to put together sober time upon leaving rehab... But not this place. With this being my fourth rehab experience, I could go on and on about all the things that were wrong about this place. I would advise anyone considering going here to look elsewhere. I know rehabs ultimately have to turn a profit to operate, but in this place, I literally just felt like an insurance check. Stay away.

This place is a joke I sent my son and it's not real rehab its a 30 day detox for rich people to go and be sober for 30 days they don't teach you anything and they have someone call and talk you into going and they say oh you can call anytime but not true they trick you to get you to go to there facility then try to charge as much $ as possible first thing they want is a credit card on file and they charge it with out notification and its just not well run and it feels like I was tricked into sending my son where he got no help and they couldn't wait to get rid of him after 30 days because I just didn't have hundreds of dollars to just throw at them.
