Alot of people don't know but the carlton hotel is not origanal. It was tore down many years years ago rebuilt. There's only one origanal wall. That's it. From afar it looks nice . But the more you pay attention in badly taken care of. Now don't get me wrong yes it's nice but for the prices they charge come on. You get nothing not even secure parking or valet.. no room service. No amenities other than a small fridge. Carpets are all dirty. & there's no door ma . Don't waste your money unless you've got deep pockets & don't care. Other try morro bay. Trust me you will enjoy yourself & so will your kids.
Rooms: Stayed there twice . The first time was so tired didn't pay attention. Other than. Yes it was pricey. The second time. The A/C didn't work. The carpets were dirty. Blood on the carpet call mngm t she actually put her finger on the blood stain tasted it said it wasn't blood. So gross. Shower didn't work. No shower head. Wifi didn't work. Gave me an excuse it was my devices. Come to find out the carlton hotel is not origanal. It was tore down many years ago ; rebuilt. Only one origanal wall exists. The rebuilt the hotel almost exactly as the same. So there for its not historic. Next time anyone stays there. Pay attention. To everything. From the pictures in the hallways to the carpets everywhere to all the wood work. It looks nice from a far. But when you get closer it's pretty dirty. Smells like smoke just masked w/air freshener. . There's nothing around. Everything is so far away. Now if u really want a nice get away. Trust me. MORRO BAY IS IT. I stayed on the bay for $84 night. So pretty. So much to do. Beautiful people. Sorry. Carlton maybe if you were still origanal maybe I'd give you 5 stars. But now that I know your not not a chance . Morro bay is were ill always stay.
Nearby activities: There really are none unless you like bars
Safety: As for safety. For the price e of the room there's no security unless u park in the back & even than there's no security. Or u gotta park across the street & hope to God the drunks across at the bars or the homeless don't break into your car. AS they did me back in Aug. 2023
Walkability: There's no where to walk. Unless you like bars. There's no valet. There's no shopping. You have to walk a good distance to get to a park . You have to walk across the street to park your car.
Food & drinks: Really are none all I've seen are bars.
Noteworthy details: It is what it is. If you have deep pockets & don't care just because of the name the carlton hotel. Than go for it. But for me personally, for that kinda money I'll stay somewhere else save money & not have to wonder were to go or what to do. I'll stay in morro bay.
