Dawn Ranch

One of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had (and I've been to hundreds of hotels and resorts all across the world, varying costs/star ratings). We booked the "newly renovated" cottages and were told those are across the street from the main resort. They were a 10 minute walk from the main resort. Speaking of, we were not told when booking or after making a reservation that the entire main property was being bought out by a wedding. This means 0 access to main property grounds and absolutely no river or beach access allowed. This was not reflected in our room rate (and egregious $400+ per night). The cottages smelled like fresh paint was still drying. There was a huge open space by the kitchenette where a small table and chairs probably should have been. The blinds in the living room were all messed up and impossible to use. We asked for a second luggage stand and more shampoo (bottle was empty when we arrived) and a staff member decided to complain that he had been over to our side of the hotel already 7 times that day. Dinner at the restaurant was overpriced. They put us in a small room at a big table and there was no light. If the sun had gone down, it would have been almost pitch black. We asked for candles and were told they didn't have any. The apps were fine, the drinks/wine list were very basic and bland. Halibut was good. Service was terrible and very, very slow. Another day when we told the front desk we had taken our privacy sign off our door (at 11:45am) and would love housekeeping, we were told "maybe." We asked for toilet paper and one extra towel, and didn't get either. We've stayed at the Stavrand and Boon multiple times. Boon is better and Stavrand is MUCH better. Everyone in our family was shocked by how bad the service was, how poorly expectations were set, and how disorganized everything was. Stay away. 6/28 UPDATE: The owner did reach out, apologize, and issue a partial refund.

My recent visit to Dawn Ranch in Guerneville, CA was truly magical! This enchanting retreat nestled in the Russian River Valley provided a serene escape from everyday life. The cozy cabins blend rustic charm with modern amenities. The highlight of my stay was the incredible meal at Dawn Ranch's restaurant. The farm-to-table dishes were bursting with fresh flavors and locally sourced ingredients. The staff at Dawn Ranch were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this serene retreat for a memorable getaway. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

We had the most wonderful weekend here. Rooms were very comfortable and clean. The location and property is gorgeous- Incredibly peaceful! The restaurant on site was delicious with great service. Highly recommend this for a relaxing weekend getaway. The onsite spa was just incredible- Very relaxing! You can walk into downtown as well just in a few minutes.

We had the best time staying at dawn ranch. The grounds and rooms are gorgeous, and the location is perfect. The staff is so friendly and really made us feel at home. It was our first time traveling with our infant and they made our stay so comfortable. Will be back!

Booked a last minute stay here and it was so picturesque and relaxing! The rooms and lodge were newly remodeled and the grounds were so well done. You could definitely tell the love and care that went in to everything. Make sure you take the time to check out the garden and orchard.
