The Stavrand

Booked a room via hotel tonight. The night before our stay we received an email that the hotel could not honor the reservation due to damage caused by a weather event. We live about 45 minutes away and there was a nasty storm 5 days ago. After the cancellation I checked on hotel tonight and other websites and the hotel is showing they have availability for the same night, but with exorbitant prices.

The Stavrand is such a hidden gem in Guerneville! The location is magical, surrounded by redwoods, gardens and orchards yet a very short walk to downtown Guerneville. The hotel has just been renovated and it's extremely stylish with high end touches. They have the most comfortable beds I've slept on. On top of that, what really made our stay special was the amazing service and hospitality. They served us delicious complimentary cocktails by the patio fire pits in the afternoon and the included breakfast was out of the charts! You shouldn't miss their dinner service, created by their resident chef with delicious food and local wine pairings. Can't wait to be back!

We were fans of Applewood inn. We booked our stay back in September for my husbands birthday as a surprise to him since it was our favorite memory together, only to be called the day before our stay and asked to rebook because they needed a reporter to stay in the room we booked so they can write a piece about the new upgrades. I was more than accommodating to them within the circumstances, asked to rebook for this month (October) for my husband and I’s anniversary. I was told I’d get a complimentary stay due to the previous issue only to get a discounted rate. We still enjoyed our stay, loved the place, not much of a difference from Applewood but still what we loved about it. On top of paying the discounted rate I was told they’d need to put a hold on my credit card for the stay, no problem. It is 5 days later and I’ve called multiple times to get an explanation on how the process of getting my 150 back for the hold since it’s still reflecting on my balance. I was told by my card holder they’d have to process a refund, but I have not gotten a word back in regards to this matter. The office and personnel seem very scattered and unorganized. To add the TVs do not work and the remotes are not available in your room even if you brought a Rocky/Firestick

Gorgeous spot! The Stavrand is modern and upscale without being fussy. It’s got beautiful details and fun outdoor jacuzzis. The historic buildings are beautiful, and there’s a fun mini hike to an excellent sunset viewpoint.

We had a lovely stay last weekend. The property was glamorous and intimate. No kids around was a big plus, and we enjoyed seeing people with their dogs. I loved that there were only a handful of other guests and I felt very covid safe. The staff is spectacular. We stayed in a spacious Armstrong King room and especially enjoyed the fireplace, jacuzzi tub big enough for 2, and the sumptuous breakfasts included in the room rate. Picking a few pears to take home was the cherry on top of a delightful weekend getaway.
