Hated by tenants, but beloved by landlords, SK Management seems to
specialize in ridding low-income HUD senior buildings of tenant infestations. I live in San Diego Square, which was purchased and renovated by a wholly-owned subsidiary of the San Diego Housing Commission. The Housing Commission takes millions of dollars in federal and other low-income housing funds every year, refuses to build any new low-income housing because they claim it isn't profitable enough to attract investors, but boasts of housing thousands of new low-income tenants every year. Since they don't build any new low-income housing, the only way they can house thousands of new low-income tenants is to get rid of the old tenants. That's where SK Management comes in--treating elderly tenants with disrespect, running their buildings like min-prisons, refusing to provide heat, etc. One security guard who had worked at many different senior buildings quit after two weeks here, having never seen a senior building where tenants were treated with such disrespect.
