    Worst service I've ever experienced in my life. It took over an hour to get our food. One member of our party did not get their food until everyone else had finished eating and checks were being delivered. He was rightfully upset and felt his bill should be discounted or comped. Not only did they not apologize, they escalated the situation and said if he did not pay they would call the police...and then they did...on a 70+ year old man...are you kidding me! A simple apology for the terrible service and perhaps a discount would have fixed the situation. I will NEVER go back...oh and the food was not good either!!!

    After getting out of church tonight we decided to try the local Japanese steakhouse Kendo. It is in the former Sashimi restaurant storefront. We have always had good experiences at Shashimi. Upon arrival we were not greeted at the door. This was around 7 pm. I could tell they were fairly busy. We got a table a few minutes later. After getting menus I approached the bar in order to obtain sushi menus as that is what we were wanting. We then ordered our food and drinks. They did provide complimentary salad and miso soup for our wait time to order. The sushi arrived shortly after. A couple of people at our table ordered from the hibachi menu (which is what we originally given) and did not receive their food for over an hour. We had already received and finished our sushi entrees. Normally the sushi takes longer to prepare than the hibachi food. At one point I finally got the waiters attention and asked for water refills and inquired where their food was. The waiter checked with the kitchen and came back and filled all drinks with water. I told the waiter that they were ordered the same time to which he responded that their food was from a different part of the restaurant. This surprised me as I think it IS all ONE restaurant. And the original menus were for what they had ordered. Our son had Sprite which was filled up with water. Lack of attention to detail, definitely. He then told us the food would be ready soon. I would imagine he forgot to order it as it took about 15 minutes more to come out. When it did it was steaming hot so I know it was just cooked. No apologies had been given yet for the wait or service. One person then asked for the check and when it was brought the waiter was told "Do you expect me to pay for this? It has been almost 2 hours by now" the waiter then said if he did not pay he would call the police as taking food was a crime. The waiter then promptly grabbed the phone and followed part if our party outside while on the phone with the police. I stepped outside and said I would pay for it if this was how they were going to treat customers. The police department showed up and we were all paying. When the person waiting for his food so long was finished paying for his Fried Rice, he accidentally scraped the credit card tray against the to go box and it landed on the counter. The waiter then said "Are you throwing that at me sir." To which the reply was no but it can be done. I asked who the owner was and was given the name. The owner was there and never intervened in the situation. The waiter then told our party that the police are here to talk to you. The police officer even said you paid and we said we did and he wondered why the call was not cancelled. Long story short...this restaraunt has poor customer service skills. If they wish to survive in an economy competing with other establishments they should lerlarn how to respect their patrons and appreciate their business. You do not threaten people about calling cops without acknowledging how you did not treat them with promptness and gratitude. Don't waste your money on this overpriced food unless you enjoy being hassled for $12 rice which probably only cost the business about $3.
