    Buyer beware!! I have been more than patient waiting for Stephanie and Travis to make this right, but they clearly arent going to! So we bought a 2017 Chevy Equinox from this dealer on January 19th of this year. The 4th vehicle that my husband and myself have bought from them! This car was our daughters car, so she payed the down payment of $5000 and we financed the difference for her. She didnt feel comfortable paying for the extended warranty due to it increasing her monthly payment so she declined. My husband and I were okay with this since we trusted Chapmams inspection process on used cars since wed previously purchased 3 other vehicles from them, purchased the warranties on those, and never needed them. Fast forward to less than 2 months later, and 600 miles on the car, and we take the Equinox on a family trip to San Diego for spring break! My mother in law and two sister in laws were following us to Sea World and noticed that it looked like our back tires were trying to do the splits! They took video, and photos to show us once we parked, and it was mind blowing! Id mentioned to my husband on our way to San Diego that it felt like the back end was kind of swaying like a mom holding a baby on her hip, going side to side, but I thought I was just tripping! I wasnt! I called Stephanie as soon as I saw the video, photos, and actually looked at the back end of the car. She immediately started with the its been almost 50 days since you bought the car excuses so I knew she wasnt going to help me. I told her I was going to find a Chapman Dealership near Mission Valley and get the car looked at to make sure it was #1 safe to drive, and #2, get a diagnosis. I did not want to take it to just any mechanic , but a Chevy Dealer whod be familiar with Equinoxs! I told her Id let her know what I found out. The next day, 3-12-24, I took the Equinox in to Mission Valley Chevrolet for an inspection. Since we were on vacation and now without a car, I also had to rent a vehicle. Mario, my Service Advisor, called me later that evening to let me know his findings. Turns out the alignment was so far out of adjustment on the back end that thats what my family was seeing, and the sway I was feeling. All four tires were showing steel on the inside (not safe to drive) and needed replaced, and of course, it needed an alignment. I okayed those repairs. This is where I get really upset!! Mario told me the adjusters on our car were, and I quote, FROZEN IN PLACE and had to be LUBED AND MANHANDLED just to get them loosened to perform the alignment!! He said there was absolutely no way that this had happened in the last 50 days or 600 miles plus the 300 mile trip to San Diego. He said THEY SOLD IT TO YOU LIKE THIS!! I asked him to send me that in writing, which he did, along with sending me the before and after pics from the alignment. All of this was sent to Stephanie who has done nothing to help me recoup my money, nor has she responded to my inquiry for an update. I was told Travis was the only one who could okay reimbursement, and he would call me. He has not. Theyve always been more than helpful selling me cars, but this situation has shown me that when push comes to shove, rules or no rules, when you should do the right thing; they will not!! I will now have to escalate this to another level to try and be reimbursed. Buyer BEWARE!!
