image I could not be happier with the progress I have made since beginning to see Dr Silverman. I have been taking medication for years for post menopausal symptoms,, but it never seemed to calm me down or assist with my focus/forgetfulness. Dr Silverman did an assessment and I found out that I actually have ADHD and anxiety. It made so much sense! He put a program together for me (no medication) and I could not believe the difference in just the first 2 weeks. My focus is sharper, I no longer feel the need to constantly pace and my memory has improved. He is also treating my adult daughter and has drastically reduced her anxiety! I highly recommend Dr Silverman. He has changed my world!

image I have a kindergarten aged son who has struggled -- I mean big time struggled -- in a classroom environment since he was 3 years old. I had tried so many things both formal therapy and at-home work too. Things worked for a while but petered off and his behavior was unpredictable at best and at times downright unacceptable. I'm an involved and present parent and I was beside myself. I felt powerless and like I was failing the one person in the world I most wanted to see succeed.
We went to Dr. Silverman after our school suggested that my son get evaluated for ADD. I picked his practice because there seemed to be a genuine focus on helping the person overcome their weakness, not just work around it.
After getting his history and observing his behavior, we skipped the formal assessment of ADD because it was so apparently the issue. We did an EEG that day and very quickly thereafter Dr. Silverman developed a therapeutic plan. We got a 10-session neurofeedback package.
BEST INVESTMENT EVER!!! While my son still does have a bumpy day here and there, his behavior in the classroom is night and day. He is predictably well behaved and can consistently control himself. I'm delighted. We will be back for more as he grows and needs more support.
My pediatrician said this was a non-traditional approach, but it's saved us from needing to medicate and has truly had a noticeable positive impact. I'll take that any day of the week!
Highly recommend.

image I am 35 years old and have had ADD as long as I can remember, it started with ADHD as a kid and I was prescribed Ritalin for behavior. As a young adult I went off Ritalin (due to side effects) and after, I worked hard to develop tools to help me get through school and just cope with ADD symptoms (taking notes, balanced caffeine intake and other supplements) things were alright but not great. Fast forward 10+ years with a fast paced career and a young child and stress from COVID, the strain on my mental health/capacity were defeating. I realized I needed a change, my coping mechanisms were not working anymore for this new demand. When I found Dr. Silverman online it was the first time I had heard the term "Neurofeedback" and I was intrigued. I read many reviews and articles and looked at other places around the valley doing Neurofeedback. I decided to go to Dr. Silverman as he seemed to be the most experienced and unbiased in the valley.
He is very punctual (I got a sense of how passionate he is through his punctuality) and controlled in technique (as you would expect someone with his experience), he is also the only one in his practice which was very important to me to get personalized treatment and not something I found anywhere else. His practice is bit unorthodox from what I was expecting to see from a psychologist, but I also had no idea what to expect nor did I know anything about Neurofeedback, so went with it. After a brief discussion about my symptoms, I was greatly relieved when Dr. Silverman reassured me that this (ADD) is not something that can be "fixed" with talk therapy alone and that is what Neurofeedback was all about. What was difficult for me to grasp at first is how the brain responds to Neurofeedback and how to control it, Dr. Silverman guided me through the entire process from brain mapping to traditional Neurofeedback and answered any questions I had along the way (I had a lot at first). My biggest fear after experiencing just how powerful the treatment really was is training the wrong areas of the brain. Those fears were quickly replaced by hope as Dr. Silverman guided me through the process and I leaned on his experience and started to see real positive change. With a few more than 20 sessions, I have been through a life changing experience with Neurofeedback and I contributed much of it to Dr. Silverman!
I you are interested in the best treatment I have found for ADD (and possibly other issues as I understand more) I recommend the following approach.
* Get a qEEG brain map, this helps the practitioner understand your unique brain, one of the most encouraging things about Neurofeedback is that it is not one-size-fits-all, it is tailored to you, which I believe is one reason it is so effective.
* Keep a journal of changes (especially how you felt before treatment as changes can be subtle).
* Educate yourself, Dr. Silvermans website is a great starting point, but their are other studies as well that support Neurofeedback and ADD.
* Provide feedback to help your practitioner understand how treatment is going for you.
* Before each session clear your mind the best you can, if you have ADD your thoughts will already be racing and any added distractions will just make training harder.
* The right kind of breathing can really help calm you down and clear your mind (RSA breathing).
