I was very disappointed with my experience here. I understand I'm not the normal clientele for Barneys, but I had saved up enough to buy myself some Christian Louboutin shoes as a splurge. I went in and worked with Christopher Platt on 1/8/16. However, they did not have my size (40) of the New Simple pumps in stock, but Mr. Platt assured me that if I filled out a PAPER form, that he would order them from the Las Vegas location and have them shipped to me. He also assured me he would call me the next day to give me an update. One - I find it odd that a high end store still uses paper ordering methods and felt very uncomfortable writing down, by hand, all of my information that anyone could access that could get into the back room. However, I trusted Barney's New York not to misuse my card information and boy do I regret it! Two - I received NO communication whatsoever from Mr. Platt as promised. Around 6:30pm on 1/9/16, I returned to the store and spoke with a different associate, who contacted him via text message. I was told that the shoes that were in Vegas were damaged, but by the time Mr. Platt had called them, the Boston location was closed, so he would have to wait until they opened again to ask. After some consideration, I asked to cancel the order. I was assured by the female associate that my information would be shredded immediately. After leaving the store, I received a call from Mr. Platt on my personal cell phone telling me a different story - that the shoes in Vegas were getting repaired and THEN sent out to me. Also, he supposedly had talked to the Boston store but they were out of stock. After trying to convince me otherwise, I thanked him for his time but requested to still cancel the order. Here's the kicker - MY ORDER WASN'T CANCELLED!! I got a fraud alert on my phone today, 1/10/16 asking to verify a $700 charge to my debit card from the Las Vegas location. I rejected it and promptly contacted Mr. Platt, again, asking him to resolve this and ACTUALLY cancel the order!! I have never been treated so shadily by a company that supposedly caters to high end customers. Paper order logs, nonexistent communication except to try and save a sales commission, and continuing use of my information after it had been explicitly asked to be removed. I wouldn't trust ordering from them with a 10 foot pole. I'm a teacher on a modest salary that wanted to splurge a bit, but apparently that means I should get treated differently.
