This outfit is owned by Rural Metro. It appears that they own many ambulances services under different names. Wonder why.
I have 35 years in the fire & rescue service and this outfit scares me.
My wife was knocked over by a dog that attacked our dog in December 2016 and she injured her hand and knee. She was transported to the hospital by a ambulance owned by Rural Metro.
We received a bill today for over $1100.00 for a ALS (advanced life support transport).
She received a BLS (basic life support transport) Wonder if this is their normal deceptive billing practices for the company?
We called the 800 number on the bill and got to talk to some poor speaking Indian in India.
So much for their ambulance service(s).
We in Litchfield Park pay top dollar for their fire service protection.
The National Fire Protection Association recommends 4 men to staff a fire truck. Rural Metro uses 3. Since the year 2000 there is a OSHA regulation that requires 2 in and 2 out to put out a house fire. This means when the Rural Metro's pretty fire truck with the lights and sirens arrives to your house that is on fire, they can NOT enter your house to try to put the fire out until another fire truck arrives so there is a total of at least four firemen on the scene to put your fire out. Two in and two out means that if two firemen enter your burning home there needs to be two firemen on the outside of your burning home to rescue the two firemen that just entered your burning home if they get it trouble. Therefore those that have to pay and it is top dollar to Rural Metro for fire service are getting a lot less than they are paying for. So not only are you paying top dollar for fire service if Rural Metro is your service provider, your paying top dollar for your fire insurance also because your insurance company is aware of the fire department's rating that serves your home.
Those paying Rural Metro would be better off paying taxes for fire protection.
