Do NOT recommend!! Thanks to Steve's and his team's lack of integrity, we had our home insurance cancelled on us!
I'm the kind of person that reads all the fine print before signing up for something. When I read through the contract Steve sent over for new home insurance, I noticed a section that said by signing we were saying we didn't own any certain dog breeds. We did. We have 2 dogs: a mutt (that we think has some terrier in him) and a husky. Not breeds that are typically on restricted lists.
I asked Steve and he said he'd check. Then I got an email saying not to worry about it. I figured it must have been an old form or something. I assumed Steve and his team had a relationship with the insurer and it wasn't a big deal so I signed the document. BIG MISTAKE.
A couple weeks after our new insurance was active, auditors from the insurance company show up at my door and ask my wife what kind of dogs she has. Being honest an honest person and figuring that it had already been discussed, she told them.
A few days later we got a notice that our insurance was being cancelled! Why? Because we have dogs on the restricted list. I called them and explained the situation. The insurance company was very nice and helpful. But they assured me that they do not make exceptions to that list. My insurance would be cancelled at the end of the month!
We talked to Steve and he said he'd help find us new insurance. AND THEN WE NEVER HEARD BACK! Of course, at this point, I was done with him as I had learned that he couldn't be trusted to tell me the truth.
We ended up shopping for insurance ourselves (something that we were trying to avoid because it's so time consuming) and signed up with Liberty Mutual for about the same cost as he found us.
Moral of the story: believe the written doc over your insurance agent. And don't use Steve Ehlers!
