Cafe Pickles

Walking around downtown just stopped in to look at the menu to see if it fit our hunger and we decided to sit down. Their special was a chile verde and it was excellent, just like my great grandma used to make it. The other item ordered was a fish and chips and it was very good. Also since we did come in the gave us a meatball appetizer for free and that was very tasty as well. The only thing I did not like was that their selection of beer was limited to light beers like lagers and such. But other then that it a place that I will continue to go.

Green chile was so spicy the other ingredients were entirely un-tastable. Red chile mole was bland. Tostada chips were stale (or at least had a very odd, chemical flavor), and the ingredients were as boring as possible for a tostada. Beans were good. Service was great. Maybe it was just an off day because other reviewers liked this place. Would try again if I lived here, but just passing though.

Very cute and handy cafe. Owners were super nice and the food was just perfect.

After traveling for hours we selected Cafe Pickles and we inquired why the cafe across the street was so crowded at breakfast, and this place was not. This was our first sign. Our breakfast of pancakes was not fully cooked and neither was the 3-egg omelet that was the special. Ugh.. we did have a great server though!
