I've been with this company my entire life. They do not accept debit/credit cards whatsoever. If you have been turned off (which they give no notice of prior) they ONLY accept cash payments (regardless of writing checks there for 15+ years and not a single return) and the nearest atm is at the foot of the mountain which will take at least 30 minutes there and back, up the biggest slope costing probably more than the bill in gas to accomplish. In 2015 a woman was charged with stealing payments for years. They refuse to update their systems because they know customers have no choice than to go through them. Likely the only public service in the country that doesnt accept cards. I know several stay at home moms that get turned off without prior notice and have no choice than to wait till their spouse is off work to have transportation to be able to get the cash required when IF they took card payments over the phone the issue could/would be resolved immediately.
