I eat in this spot a lot since I work nearby. I have to say the service is always great and they keep the spot well kept regularly. Rates are convenient and they serve big portions.

I would give them a 0 if I could. First off, I've been feeling super sick for two days and it's only getting worse since eating here. No vomiting or diarrhea yet, but getting close. The nausea is absolutely unbearable. I got the fish and chips with prawns. It was okay in the moment. Pretty heavy and greasy and definitely nothing special. I ate the whole plate because I was starving though. I already have gut issues, so I woke up the next morning feeling sort of off. I figured I just needed to go to the bathroom, so I did, but then the symptoms worsened. Maybe a gut flare. However, I have never had nausea this bad in my entire life with my gut symptoms and I'm having chills and sweating. I was nauseous all throughout the day on Thursday, and it's worsened terribly today. I haven't been able to sleep at all or even drink water. Any time I attempt bland food, it feels like it's going to come back up. So now I'm just not eating. Not sure if it was Gaffer's, but I know that this all started after eating here. The waitress was pleasant, but the place itself was gross looking and dirty. Our table had fingerprints and crumbs all over it, so we asked she could wipe it down further. She didn’t seem too happy about that. I get it's been around for fifty years, but they could do better. I'm not surprised if someone were to get sick. Don't waste your time. There are plenty of better places in town, including Maher's Pub. Meanwhile, let's just hope I can get better. Fingers crossed. Won't be eating here again.
