We ordered red beans and rice, hush puppies, shrimp po boy,and jambalaya. After the hush puppies and red beans and rice I debated leaving. Jambalaya and po boy lacked flavor. I wanted to try the oysters but definitely questioned the quality of them after tasting our food. It's not even worth explaining how poor the food was. Just shocked this restaurant survived COVID.

My first time here, and trusted the 4.4 stars without reading the reviews first. Listen here, this place is not it. We got the hush puppies, red beans and rice, shrimp po boy, and the jambalaya. I'm not sure how this food is considered "cajun" or "southern food". the hush puppies were decent, but the red beans and rice lacked any sort of seasoning and the ham was definitely not smoked or flavored. the po boy's comeback sauce was decent, yet everything else in it and the fries were underwhelming. my jambalaya was more like fried rice with some meat, and didn't taste like jambalaya at all. TL:DR if I were to serve you any of this food in my house, I'm sure you'd never want me cooking for you again. If I was the chef, I'd be embarrassed to serve this food, especially as an attempt to pay tribute to the "southern classics" but hey, maybe the oysters are fire?

We came for a birthday party on a Friday night - the food and service were not great - my partner and I had the blackened catfish & brisket sandwiches. I took a few bites of the brisket and didnt eat anymore - texture and flavor were not there. The blackened catfish - was not blackened and had a slippery texture. Our server tried his best and the only complaint there was how long things took and how little our table was checked on or given any attention. For a Friday night, they seemed busy but not so busy that they appeared understaffed. The music was turned up to bleeding ear drums volume. Best thing was the hush puppies. Most all of us at the table had never been here before so it was a first experience and I wouldnt come back..

The food and atmosphere were amazing! I had the shrimp touffe and bread pudding with whiskey sauce. The oysters were fresh, and little vinegar-shallot sauce was delicious (I'm not normally an Oyster fan fyi). My only feedback is that staff was not very attentive despite being less busy. In the evening the back tables were a tiny bit darker than they should be. Don't forget to note the bathroom code which is shared by that block of restaurants (they were well kept and clean).
