I have been a patient of Dr Golubev for going on about 3 1/2 years now. I go on a monthly basis for a injection in my right eye and a implant is placed in my left eye about every 3 months. Every time I go I am always treated with respect and many know me on a first name basis. I’m very happy I was referred to High Country Macula to help save my vision!

I was the advocate for my friend who recently had eye surgery at High Country. Everyone we came in contact with was professional and courteous. I was so pleased Karen came through with the expected result and would recommend this practice to anyone.

I have been a patient of Dr. Seligson's since 2012 when he completed a scleral buckle on one of my eyes. He did a great job and I was very satisfied with the surgery. I have been seeing him and many doctors at his practice since then. I went recently for another check-up appointment. About two months before this present appointment, I had some laser done on one of my retinas by a doctor at Eye Associates. I was also very pleased with how the procedure went. As a patient, I enjoy seeing different doctors (as is my right) and getting many different opinions (as is my right). I made an appointment to have Dr. Seligson check my eyes after the laser procedure as I could not get in to Eye Associates before I was leaving for Mexico for the winter. Dr. Seligson's office made an appointment for me and asked me to fax over my records from Eye Associates, which I did. When the day of the appointment came, I was greeted by a very disgruntled and impatient front desk employee. I was then processed through the typical eye appointment. My eyes were checked and dilated. Images were taken of my eyes. When it got time for me to see Dr. Seligson, a woman came in his place. She told me that Dr. Seligson refused to see me. I was very confused. I asked why and she said that he would not see me if another surgeon had operated on my eye. I had NEVER had this issue before. I have seen plenty of eye surgeons and eye doctors since 2012 - some of which have operated on me and some who have not. Never have I had a surgeon tell me they refused to see me because they were not the one to operate on me. My partner and I continued to raise our voices and ask to see Dr. Seligson. Finally, after we persisted enough, Dr. Seligson came into the room. Eventually, he agreed to see me and look at my eyes. Eventually, he apologized for his behavior. He said, "If my staff told you that I would see you then you're right. I will see you." As the appointment continued, Dr. Seligson proceeded to say to me, "I don't understand why you would go to another doctor. I have been your doctor for many years. If you had had a problem with me, I wish you would have talked to me about it." He also said, "You should have done the responsible thing and seen the doctor who did your procedure for your follow-up." He shamed and belittled me as a patient, while I was sitting in a dark office with my eyes dilated. I have never been treated with such disrespect at a doctor's office. It is my right as a patient to see whomever I desire as my doctor. It is not my job to explain my choices or coddle a doctor's hurt feelings about my choice to see another surgeon. Dr. Seligson's behavior was completely inappropriate and unethical. I will never be going back to this office again.

I hate writing negative reviews but this one I felt I needed to share. Although, I did appreciate the quick appointment due to my blurred vision in the right eye, the actual visit was very unprofessional. In the dark room, Dr S had his cell phone. He took one phone call and then laughed about people calling him about a job. Then as he is probing my eye, the phone rings again and he actually answered it and had a conversation leaving me with my head back. He said I needed to have a spot repaired so I made an appointment for the following Friday. In the meantime, I got a second opinion. No repair was needed. I had a hard time leaving a message to cancel my repair visit so, the day of the appointment arrived. The office called and wanted to change the time of my visit because Dr S had to be in Albuquerque. What? I was to have found a person to accompany me to the appointment......how inconvenient if I had kept the appointment. Dr. S was more interested in his phone calls and other activities than his patient.
