We have a little bunny and rushed him to Dove Lewis on Easter Sunday after he got a cut on his paw. We anticipated a long wait, especially on a weekend holiday, and even though that was the case, the staff were all so friendly, helpful, and did their very best to check in with us and give us as many updates as possible while we waited. There was very transparent communication, which we super appreciated, especially from such an inundated and high stress operation. The facility is super nice, the operation is very organized, and we were just so grateful to have somewhere to go in an urgent situation, especially with a pet that is considered "exotic." Very grateful for the hard working staff of Dove Lewis!

I am in Portland part-time and I don't have a "regular vet." When my pup got sick, I took him to Dove Lewis. From the person on the phone helping me schedule, the front desk team and the vet tech and vet, it was a really first class experience. Thank you!

My mother's flame tipped Siamese, under a year old, was brought to Dove Lewis in hopes of a Veterinarian diagnosing his illness, which we speculated might be an upper respiratory infection or allergies, and upon arriving at 6:30 pm, were greeted by eager staff and immediately shown to an exam room. At this point is where we sat, for hours on end only to have an assistant weigh our cat which we already knew his weight, and the vet hours later discussed options regarding vaccines not being administered at their facility and we chose to have a shot given of antibiotics knowing we would not be able to give it to him any other way, but then we sat for 3 more hours waiting for the vet to come back with the antibiotics. At this point after having paid an examination fee of $203.00, it was midnight when we decided we would have better chances of helping our cat get well by making an appointment with our regular vet in Saint Helens. There was a waiting room packed full of pet owners and their pets when we arrived. Three secretaries sat behind the desk, and we're eager to quarantine our possibly contagious feline from the other animals. Maybe they didn't have enough Veterinarians on staff this evening to suffice the number of patients needing medical attention, but even if this was the case as to why we were sitting for over six hours in the most uncomfortable chairs, the secretaries and or the assistant should have communicated to us the timelines that we were looking at re: the veterinarians ability to see all of the patients, because if we had known six hours was going to be how long of a wait before we could head home, we probably would have just made an appointment with our regular clinic. The vending machine was astronomically overpriced, coffee service was malfunctioning and otherwise would have been complimentary, and WiFi was fast and free, yet could have been more readily posted with the passwords in the examination rooms where regular cell service signals were weak. My mother cried and cried the whole trip home for it is her cat that is ultimately suffering greatly from this horrible experience, waste of time and money gone to no avail. Now to think that her cat who was difficult as they come in regards to getting him into a cat carrier for the journey, now won't even come back into the house let alone try to get him to the vet for a second time. She's worried sick about his health, and now it seems her other cats also are coming down with some of the same symptoms. Hopefully we will recover from this fiasco and get her animals the care they need and deserve despite our failed efforts at Dove Lewis.

My beloved pup has been sick for over a year but Ive the weekend he came down with some new illnesses that needed attention . My vet has always recommended Dove Lewis for emergencies. We came is and they took my pup in right away to check his vitals . The wait was long , due to more urgent patients. Dr. Long was so kind and patient, she did not rush our visit , answered every question, all the staff is so kind and professional. They were upfront about all the cost , and made sure I was comfortable with the test and how things were going . Thank you so much for taking care of my Duke .
