The funeral director Eline was incredible and she truly helped our family throughout the process. She created a space for us to get everything done in a timely manner. When arriving at the funeral home to complete the paperwork needed, the entire front desk was horrible. The young lady who helped us out referred to my grandmother as a he multiple times even after being corrected and proceeded to fill out the paperwork incorrectly. This was not the last time the employees at the funeral home referred to my grandmother as male which is incredibly upsetting to family dealing with death. In our second meeting with the funeral home we discovered that all of the information had been taken down wrong and Eline assisted us in correcting her coworkers mistake. I was grateful that someone finally took action to make us feel as if our loved one was more than just a transaction with the funeral home. On the night of the funeral, the 2 men tasked with assisting us did an incredible job and I am eternally grateful for their help. The process was smooth and we were given time with our loved one both before and after the funeral. I have no complaints there. Weeks pass and I receive a message that the ashes were ready for pickup. I arrive at the time I was given and no one at the funeral home knows who my appointment is. This was such a frustrating experience because I felt like there had already been so many instances where the funeral home was unorganized and this had gotten in the way of my grief. Despite dealing with the overwhelming sadness I felt being back in the funeral home, I was forced to sit around and wait for the employees to figure out who the appointment with. I was most shocked that it felt like they did not keep track of their appointments at all. This was incredibly off putting to me. After more than 15 minutes a woman helped us. She was incredibly polite, but I could not believe the mismanagement of the funeral home. If I had known this would have been my experience I would never have chosen Caballero Rivero.
