From the time we walked into the shop, to the day of installation, The Granite Shop of Madison was fantastic to work with! They have a vast selection of granite to choose from and they helped us through the process every step of the way. We couldnt be happier with how our kitchen and bar countertops turned out.

I had a Granite custom bar top made by them. They did an amazing job on the top, pictures do not show how awesome it is. I told them I would like to pick it up and install it myself. They did not push me to have them install at all. I have been in construction for 30 years and no idea what these guys go through. Installation by ourselves was very difficult at best. That little top weighs well over 300lbs. The Granite Shop of Madison gave me a high quality top at an extremely reasonable price. I had a very small project and they treated my wife and I like we were a high end customer. Very impressed. Tim Wolter

I had a really miserable experience with Granite Shop of Madison. I'm building a home and paying for countertops myself, as it's an allowance item with my builder. This means i used my own funds to directly pay the vendor, nothing went through the builder. The CSR handling my quote refused to answer several simple pricing questions. She just wouldn't answer them. And they were easy too, like "how much extra for a matte finish option". She finally confessed that they wouldn't share the pricing with the person paying for it, so they would email answers to my questions to the builder, buried deep in a 6 page confusing bid, who could then forward it on to me. The project manager was on vacation so it took me 6 days to get an answer. When I respectfully expressed frustration with this, by simply saying "I give up" after her 4th refusal to answer a question, GSoM then accused me of being aggressive & dramatic. No, refusing to tell a paying customer the prices is aggressive & dramatic. What happened is the CSR handling me at first made a mistake. Rather than own the mistake, the owner went on a pride kick and used me as an example. He of course went behind my back to get my builder's permission first. My builder later admitted he "didn't love" what GSoM would do & for future builds would encourage them to be more customer centric. What exact damages do you have in not telling a person the price of something their paying directly? If someone is building a home & the builder is paying for the countertops, fine, don't share the prices. But I literally paid for the $15K countertop purchase on my credit card to the vendor. How can you expect someone to pay you $15K without telling them the prices? The upside was that the alternate vendor was amazing. What a wonderful experience I had. GSoM is old fashioned with a lot of granite & a limited quartz selection. They have less than half the number of quartz compared to every other vendor I met with. I was able to get a great price on a multiple MSI Calacatta's in all of my bathrooms and an amazing Cambria on my island for less than GSoM was charging for very basic quartz. The beauty of the free market is that I paid less & didn't get verbally abused by the owner. I've built four homes and worked with so many wonderful local vendors. GSoM is, without a doubt, the worst. THE. WORST. They're the ONLY 1 out of 9 allowance vendors on this project that wouldn't share pricing. I was actually going to hire a local design firm but when they told me they recommended GSoM, I knew that was a bad sign & went with a different one. GSoM also lies. He says they politely told me that they didn't want to work with me. Wrong. They sent me & my builder an email saying that they'd love to work with me. My builder asked me to try and work with GSoM, but they still didn't want to tell the person paying what the cost was. GSoM did what they did because he thought there'd be no consequences for them. This review is a consequence, and you earned it. (reposted from personal account)

I got kitchen counters from this store in 2021. They had a great selection of granite at various price points. I fell in love with my slab. They communicated well, scheduling was easy. The measurements were spot on. The one thing I didn't like was that the picture that they emailed me for the placement was grainy and the colors that I wanted in certain spots ended up somewhere else. The installers did an awesome job. Overall very positive experience and I adore my counters.
