I never leave reviews, but I find it very important to leave one here to help prevent others from experiencing what I did at this vet. I brought my healthy 5 year old cat in for routine vaccines (FVRCPC, Rabies, + Felv) and to check his teeth as I noticed some plaque/tartar build up. They administer his vaccines and recommend/sell me Plaque-Off to be added to his food everyday and clean his teeth. I asked about any negative side effects from the Plaque off and was told by a vet assistant that theres no side effects and its completely fine for my cat. About two weeks later, my cat starts exhibiting side effects from the vaccines that are commonly seen in kittens & uncommonly in adult cats (lethargy, loss of appetite and limping). I became concerned as its lasted roughly 4-5 days at that point, so I take my cat back in to be checked. The veterinary assistants there relay the message from the vet (he doesnt speak to patients directly because of his age, 80s) that it was impossible to be a delayed reaction to vaccination, informs me that my cat has an extremely elevated heart rate & needs a $200 X-ray to check his heart. I refuse the test and ask to speak to the vet directly and they eventually agree. Im very adamant that it was a delayed vaccine reaction but he brushes it off and says I see youve been referring to Dr. Google. I have 50 years experience and graduated from the university of Davis. Ive been to NY vet conferences, I know what Im doing. It was extremely demeaning and he spoke to us like children. I take my cat back home and within a couple of days he snaps right out of it, appetite back to normal, limping gone, lethargy gone, simply a vaccine reaction. In addition, On the bottle of plaque-off that was given to me, it states not recommended for animals undergoing treatment for hyperthyroidism. This product is associated with causing hyperthyroidism (elevated heart rate) in dogs and cats due to the high levels of Iodine. Needless to say, Im never coming back to this vet again & wouldnt recommend to anyone. Keep your pets safe and find a competent vet.

Emotions run high when you have a sick pet at home. Its the worst feeling. All you want is for them to get better. They are your family. Youll do just about anything for them. Mango, my daughter's leopard gecko has been recovering for over a month now from Mouth Rot. We are so grateful we found Dr. Levoy, an exotic animal vet. His staff is warm and friendly and have gone out of their way to help and explain all the details of Mango's treatment plan. A special thanks to Nelly, Chris, and Jackie for all their help. They have accommodated appointments to work with my schedule. Mango is on the mend now. The care he has received at Baldy View Animal Hospital has been excellent. We are thankful we found a great doctor and Vet Techs to care for our pets.
