During my one and a half-year residence, I was convinced of only one thing, this is a wonderful building in the quiet neighborhood with a perfect view from all sides. Always clean corridors and elevators, perfectly selected flowers and vases that can be seen around the perimeter, excellent management ready to solve any problem 24/7. The entire staff consists of wonderful and pleasant people. Events are often held in the building, allowing you to enjoy various dishes and drinks, or to communicate with other residents.

They sold us on the pool in the building, and then it was closed for repairs for 5 months straight.
Our sink was leaking, and it took them 1 week to fix the sink.
The place is absolutely beautiful, and front desk staff are wonderful. The maintenance is not at a level that covers the cost to live here.

Really wish I researched more before picking this building. The staff are very friendly but I'm finding out the infrastructure is outdated. After multiple long phone calls with AT&T I learned that the building is fed fibre internet but does not have fibre internally to the units. The building is in a contract that it cannot break and will be for months to come. The tenants are stuck with slow, unreliable internet.
The internet speed I get with the best plan offered is:

52.86 Mbps download
7.10 Mpbs upload
I get better internet on a farm (seriously).
It's 2022. We work online and we do school online. You'd expect a building in the core of Chicago to have better options, especially when rent costs this much. This upgrade should have been done years ago.
Not to mention, some buildings nearby have grocery stores for their tenants, but here, the only real option for someone without a car is delivered groceries.
It's entirely my fault for not investigating deeper, but I expected in the core of Chicago, internet wouldn't be a problem anywhere. This is a problem you'd expect somewhere in the country-side of lowa. Hopefully others can learn from my mistakes...

We had great time staying for over a year at 850NLS. Wonderful historic building, indoor swimming pool, great roof-top view and spacious apartments. The owners have recently upgraded some of the interiors around lake view lounge and roof top lounge so you'll enjoy these new facilities. Additional storage space was a great thing given we have kids a lot of things we don't want to keep in the apartment.
Thank you Nikolas, Corey, Dallas for being so supportive, friendly and professional. I think people matter the most and it was great comfort knowing that you guys are running things.
Thank you La'Velle and the front desk team for a friendly welcome each time we walked the hallway. We will certainly miss living in 850NLS and recommend the community to anyone looking for a great place in the very heart of Chicago managed by the great team that will help you call this place home.
