I have been in the hospital since January and I was brought here, I have been very happy with the nurse's and The different doctors that I am seeing.I must say that everyone really really cares & yes they may get busy but we need to realize that we're all trying to get help & like me I have a ventilator so I can't talk.So the other thing is I have been dealing with my health issues & what has been amazing is everything that they have done.

If you have a loved one and they are on MEDICARE you will want to STEAR CLEAR of this place.. I CANNOT STRESS this enough.. in reference to a below review says they are criminal and if theres a way to leave a negative 1000 stars review I would. Even if your loved one has even Medicare supplemental insurance they DO NOT CARE.. they will bully and harass you and discharge before your loved one is ready. And even when your insurance will pay. And dont be fooled by good reviews here of their lead doctor DR Allen, take time look beyond that of reviews on multitude of websites spanning back 11 yrs, this doctor has a numerous upon numerous of very dissatisfied reviews .. and appears it shows because he doesnt appear to have the credentials up to snuff to be caring for acute , critical care patients .. as a general internist. I have no idea how hed be allowed .. the grave disturbing things that happened to my loved one have been beyond repulsive .. he was neglected that his feeding formula was causing him to go diarrhea every two hours , and we found left in it for hours on end if not all night .. so much so we found he had disturbing bed sores and super deep chaffing in his thighs and bottom , (we had to take photos of ) just to document what has taken place .. what is worse he is trached and cant talk to call for help if he wanted to. And it gets worse, we found from the beginning, my dad was being drugged , with a super sedative antibiotics and anti psychotic meds . That left him in a super sleepy state .. they didnt tell us and the Dr had the audacity to say he was in cognitive and brain damaged , without doing a test or even reviewing the clear brain and spinal scans from the ICU he was in . When confronted or asking questions on the subject, the doctor denies he even said it.. how crazy is that? I know it happened cause I was there holding my mother for 2HOURS , crying her eyes out thinking my dad was basically brain dead and gone, could you imagine what could be in someones head to not think about well maybe its in the meds Im giving? Wow .. He also came down with pneumonia and almost died . Of which the next ICu he landed in that saved his life, was very concerned it had been cooking for a long time and apparent neglect and mismanagement of his trache and not getting him up enough , and having him lay in bed all day. Also they were extremely concerned of the bed sores and also noted that they have received a strange amount of people from specialty select. So we have all well documented as well.. not just medical reports but video and pictures .. and on and on. While the nursing staff is great and does their best , we know theyre severely understaffed , yes but still under the direction of this doctor it appears and hospital protocol not in best care of the patient. This hospital DOES NOT make recovery happen as its said on their website , and should be shut down for mis advertising ..

I would like to know what the protocol is when a nurse let the patient fall?

Absolutely awful care. My mom was there 33 days and the neglect was unimaginable. Laying in her own urine, her ostomy bag leaking all over her and burning her skin. She was too weak to pull her meal table to the bed and no one helped. Amd many other issues. I had to drive up from Denton every morning to take care of her. We filed several complaints and nothing came of it. She got worse being there. She went to Select in Denton after this place and within 3 days was walking again. We have emails and pictures to prove how bad it got. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there.

I have been staying here for 3 weeks, and the care here is really warm and gloomy by all the caretakers, nurses, and respiratory therapists. Dr. Allen is so sweet and humble and has taken care of my dad. He has been so comfortable and understands what my mom has been going through. My mom feels relieved when she meets and talks with Dr. Allen. Also, I want to thank all the nurses especially Miss Yang, KC, Obi, Paramjit, and caretakers Toya, Jadah, Ivory and Nancy for understanding my mom's feelings and being so comfortable and homely with my mom. I would love to thank all the health staff working out there and also the respiratory therapists, especially Julie, DD, Flora, Simon... many others, I could not remember the names of all. Thank you Select Speciality for being such comfortable and cozy with us.
