The Mint Motel

The design of the bath/shower stall is an enormous improvement over what typical motels give you. There are generous ledges built in for soap and sponges, brushes and whatnot.. and those ledges are LEVEL, with grooved areas for soap. I have NO idea why but most motel stall ledges have a very minute dowward slope to them. Go figure. The cleanliness of the motel rooms here is second to none. Minty fresh -- clean as a mint -- in mint condition. This motel is true to its name. Their heating system is an out-of-this-world BRILLIANT unique design. But even so, it is not always a fair match to the brutal Rock Springs Continental Divide ever-varying conditions. But the management team here is EXCEPTIONALLY nice and is quick to provide whatever is required, eg, auxiliary space heater. Unlike most motels, the windows can actually slide open -- for FRESH air. Hallelujah! Interesting fact: the Elevation of Rock Springs increases by four inches every year, due to the rapid growth of the relatively-young Rocky Mountain chain. Noteworthy details: Pet friendly. The price can NOT be beaten!

I would give the mint motel 6 stars if I could. Very clean, newly renovated, friendly staff and locals. Alaina, Mike, and Amber were a breath of fresh air after running into car troubles on my way to Kentucky from Washington state. Only a short walk to the gas stations, Lews cafe and local bars you wont have to drive to grab a bite to eat. I enjoyed watching the local wildlife and taking in the beautiful scenery surrounding the covered patio on the second floor. Dont bother looking into the other motels in the area, the Mint Motel is it.
