        If you return a item never get a gift card in return; always get your cash back. If you accept the gift card; they will try to tell you that they can't give you cash back even though you initially gave them cash. Also I never got an apology for the 2 defective laptops and the time it took to buy and return them. If Target is hurting for money just say that.
