We worked with Matt Parnell who was the builder who remodeled our home in 2014-2015These were some of our issues with him:1.  He did not always follow the architect's plans.  One example: we had a 4 foot room opening planned.  Matt put in a 3 foot opening without consulting with us.  We asked him to change it back.  He wanted to charge us to change it to the original plan. After we argued, he agreed to change it to the original plan at no charge.2.  Matt put up siding on the house which was discontinued and had no warranty.  HE did not tell us in advance that it was a discontinued product.  IT was CertainTeed.  because of the poor quality, we chose to have it all removed and replaced by a brand with a good warranty.3.  Our kitchen cabinets were built by Matt Parnell  Matt neglected to tell us that his only cabinet maker had quit and that Matt was going to make the cabinets himself.  Not only did Matt not have the time to make the cabinets, he did not have the ability.  The cabinets did not look like they were professionally made.  they came with scratches, chips and stains.  Many did no close right.  He had to come out several times just to get them to close correctly.  We would have been better off going to Home Depot. 4.  Matt also made the laundry room cabinets.  the architect's design called for drawers.  Matt made them without any drawers.5.  Matt had an argument with a tile man from Crown flooring, who insisted that Matt "fix" the spongy floor in the bathroom before he place tile on it.  Matt did not want to fix it because he thought it was OK as is.  The Crown flooring man quit the job.  We had to call Matt and complain before he would come out and fix the "spongy" floor.6.  The building site was a mess for 7 months.  There was garbage thrown all around, as well as cigarettes and pop cans.  Many of our neighbors complained.  7.  Matt told us the house would be complete by Christmas 2014.  In fact, by November 2014, he was still telling us the house would be complete by Christmas. We had moved out and was renting.  We were not able to move into our home until the end of February 2015 and at that time the kitchen cabinets were not installed.
