Normally I have had good experiences at this store HOWEVER I went recently for my birthday to use a $25 gift card. I tried on clothes and my spouse was helping me decide what looked best. Someone came over really fast to the fitting rooms and asked us if we were okay in a way that felt like we were doing something wrong. My husband felt uncomfortable (he was only outside my fitting room or far away from the rooms) so I asked him to just come into the room with me so he wouldnt have to feel unwelcome. Then we pick out 2 items which come to almost $80 (phew more than Id hoped for for a dress and tank top but whatever it was my birthday and I took the time to pick out the items.) so Im prepared to foot the difference. The cashier was very cold toward us as she directed us to her register and conducted the transaction. What made it worse was she took the gift card from us and said there was only $1 on the card! What? Unfortunately I had no receipt but I searched my wallet, explained I received it as a gift for my birthday and the only reason I was shopping was because I was gifted this gift card. She tried it on another computer but did not ask me if I wanted to still purchase the items, threw away the gift card without asking me if I wanted it back etc, and just silently told me my total and bagged the items. I was shocked. As i said, I went ahead with the purchase since I was lucky enough to be able to afford this and I didnt want to ruin the mood of my birthday but I was disappointed she didnt ask me if I wanted to continue, express any sympathy that I was gifted this card and thats why i was there in the first place, or offer any solutions (even just to say heres how you check your balance for next time or if you ask for gift cards, make sure they give you the receipt because if theres a mix up we can read x number or anything. I felt unwelcome and uncared for. In the past this has not been the case but I was disappointed - and on my birthday no less.
