Craig and Catherine offer hands down the most valuable tango instructions in town. They have provided me with strong foundations that helped me improve my technique, dance outside of our local community, and quickly grasp more complex and subtle concepts when studying with other reputable instructors.
Craig and Catherine focus on bodily awareness, key principles underlying a step (rather than figures), a dialogue with our dance partner and the music, and last but not least, tango etiquette! I also love how they plug their students to a wider tango community by bringing in artists and teachers and by sharing what they have learned in their ongoing exploration of the dance.

Tango House of Madison is a wonderful place for people who are interested in learning to dance Argentine tango, and for long-time tango enthusiasts alike. They foster a safe tango learning environment, with regular class + practica sessions, some milongas (socials), and live tango music. Their prices are very reasonable, and they also organize special workshops with various visiting tango teachers sometimes, helping to create a more connected tango community within the isthmus and beyond. Personally I found their technical drills and focus on comfort of the embrace as important foundational building blocks in my tango journey. I also like their philosophy of active following and switch-role encouragement.
