I had a checking account and savings account with Associated for 18 months and I trusted them a lot to help me financially and give me financial advice. Of course, like many banks, they failed. I reported fraud on my account and they never refunded the money back into my checking account. Eventually they took 6 weeks worth of paychecks from me. I couldnt afford to pay for groceries and they told me a manager would call back. He never called and then when I went to the local branch to ask for help/advice. I was super professional and the banker that I had the meeting looked at me and asked me if I was related to a certain celebrity and I said no. Then she said theres nothing I can do for you, good luck.

Should be zero stars. This bank supposedly services Michigan, but after applying online, they insisted I come in-person to apply, even though I've already had an online account here before -- and they have ZERO branches in Michigan. I'm supposed to travel hundreds of miles just to open an account with your bank?? Get real.

Once a community regional bank that put its members first is now a greedy corporate bank catering not to the members that keep them alive but the shareholders. 2x have I had an issue resolved to find out later nothing was done. Customer service has a small vocabulary which mostly contains we cant do anything for you since the system created and placed the issue. Numerous bankers and customer service all tells me the same thing. There hands are tied and theres nothing they can do. After having multiple issues regarding nsf fees when having the money to cover I noticed how my transactions were hitting my account in a completely different order. Or if I deposit money the system will put all debits through first to put us under then apply deposit which now pays off multiple nsf fees as the deposit clears. I knew something was going on with the practice to cultivate nsf fees. I know it sounds like a conspiracy but 6.4 billion annually prove its not. Its called reordering and while being completely unethical it is legal under federal banking laws. No surprise there. Banks run the country while congress works for them using us simply as a commodity. Read the link below and read for yourselves how this is all done.
