My niece rented a property these folks managed; while living in the home she fell ill with cancer and some necessary changes had to be addressed.They were contacted by my sister (niece’s mother) that mold was prevalent and it needed to be addressed accordingly. After missing two appointments with my sister (as my niece was hospitalized) she decided to withhold the rent until this was addressed, and by the 8th of the month an eviction jnotice was served!Rather than address a heath issue this faux management company chose to evict an ill young lady from her home rather than repair the problem.My sister paid the rent rather than deal with the court system and the management company anymore.By the first of the next month the family got together and moved her furniture into a better location so when she was released from the hospital should would have a healthy place to recover in.Get this: Within the first week of the following month, this insensitive group filed another eviction notice! In court, they were notified that the property was vacated and cleaned.They asked the judge for that month’s rent and my sister spoke up and told the judge that the deposit more than covered that.All is good with my niece, she's back to work and now owns a house … be weary of these people.

Edit: Im pretty certain there is no longer a leasing manager handling our property. We havent seen Jessica on site in over a month. Weve even seen other tenants or prospective tenants attempt to contact the office with no luck in receiving assistance. Meeks rentals has recently taken over the property we live in in Huntington and so far, I am completely unimpressed. They overcharged us for our rent because they didnt bother to read our leasing agreement. Jessica is rude, disrespectful and harassing. They like to try to enter your home without warning or necessity, to the point that we have put up security cameras in our own apartment to monitor our home when we arent there. Theyve completely taken away the tenants ability to pay via check and instead, we are expected to pay online which includes a $6 transaction fee. Theyre only there when someone moves in as what I assume is a courtesy, otherwise, youre SOL if you require any assistance from the office staff. Not to mention these units are incredibly overpriced for the lack of amenities and care put into the property itself. Overall, I would suggest looking for off campus housing elsewhere.

I had to do a star just to make a review. This place of business in my experience has been so unprofessional. They took over my property for the landlord, but the landlord still is in control. My maintenance order has been in the system twice and still havent been contacted or fix. I feel they are trying to get out of my home. Ive live in my house for 4 years. And I feel they dont care too much for me and my family. Made a over payment on my rent and they refuse to refund. Told me they would type up a letter with that statement. I ask for proof in their policy. They have been very disrespectful, unpredictable and I feel they are against my color of skin. My new neighbors are white and within days of them moving in they had maintenance over there house.Im still waiting on my order to be done. But the landlord said I thought the repair was for something that we already fix!!! Why would I send in a new order of something that has already been fix. I even sent a picture attached to the order. But the office says its up to their boss( the landlord) to deal with my maintenance order. A fix hinge on a door. Landlord that has became a so unacceptable and want to be on their own time. And I pay my rent on time every month. They make me feel like they get to me when ever they want to. Landlord wants to build something new on this property. But until I move out they will do the least of expectations.

As an active duty military service member who received orders to West Virginia for duty along with my wife and son, it seemed like we were in for a rough time finding a place to live initially. Meeks Rental Properties made finding a home in the Mountain State a very seamless, easy, and stress-free process. Jessica is very professional and we could not have asked for a more better point of contact for our inquiries. Even when she was isolating at home due to COVID-19, she still provided outstanding assistance by tele-working from home while sick, coordinating with her teammates at their office, to make sure we were able to view our current home and put down a deposit. Meeks has been up-front with everything and application was very easy from their application portal. All of our calls, emails, and texts were returned immediately. We look forward to having Meeks as our rental property managers for the coming years. YOU'RE IN GREAT HANDS WITH MEEKS!
