I suffer from TMJ, which causes me to clench my jaw, bite and grind my teeth, cheeks and tongue. This causes me a lot of pain. I see Dr Ostenson for Botox injections in my jaw to alleviate those symptoms. Dr Ostenson does an evaluation of my symptoms and pain locations when I arrive. She treats me very gently as she assesses what needs to be done. She talks to me throughout the procedure, helping me to relax. She injects Botox into several locations in my jaw, which stops a muscle in my jaw from tightening and causing my symptoms. Within a day or two this muscle in my jaw is no longer able to clench and my symptoms abate. This treatment is virtually painless, and my jaw relaxes. Dr Ostenson has helped me a lot, relieving a lot of pain in my jaw. I really appreciate how she is able to find the problem areas and treat the jaw pain. Shes also very caring and talks to me extensively about my pain and what we can do for it. She also remembers details weve talked about before, noticed that Ive lost a lot of weight, and noticed today how much better I seem to be. I think shes the best!
