Great bunch of people to work with, very helpful during a stressful time.

I contacted this business about a week ago, and they were friendly on the phone. They said I could come in for a walk-in estimate, so I visited their location. When I arrived, the receptionist didn't acknowledge me. The interaction in the shop was okay, but it's been a while since I heard back from them. They promised to have the estimate ready, but I had to call them twice, and they still haven't given me a call back. Their communication skills are terrible, and it's frustrating because now I have to go find another shop. I don't recommend this business because they weren't able to complete their work, and there is no value for their customers.

I had an old truck that was in a minor collision with a telephone pole. No other shop would touch such an old vehicle, but didn't want to take it to the scrapyard just yet. I wasn't dealing with insurance, and just wanted to get the old beast road-worthy and semi-presentable again. After calling several places, someone recommended Kevin at K & D. He knew exactly what I was looking for and was able to do exactly what I needed at a fair price. It's good to know there's places like this still around.

Kevin and staff have helped me deal with an inspection after an accident only to find out it was considered a total loss. During the process, him and his team were patient, understanding and communicative. The customer service provided earns them 5+ stars, my future business, and as many referrals I can send their way!

We brought our vehicle in to Kevin and asked for a quote to repair possible frame damage because the vehicle was hit while parked. We were told that there would be some delay as they had many cars to work on. After 3 weeks of no contact I emailed Kevin simply asking if he had any updates. After a few days he would eventually reply with a single sentence and then go no contact for several more weeks. Eventually after playing this game over the course of 3 months, he finally emails me and says they have checked out the car and have a parts list together and just need to send that over with the quote and get everything ordered. Another week goes by without an email so I reach back out and ask for the quote with the parts he wants to order so I can budget appropriately and approve the quote and he can begin work. He tells me that they've gone ahead and "repaired the frame damage" despite me clearly stating that I DID NOT WANT ANY SERVICE DONE and only wanted a quote since I had to work with my insurance and I knew I would likely have to pay out of pocket for some or all of the expense. He then tells me that I owe him nearly $1,000 for the repairs SO FAR even though I authorized NOTHING and made it clear as day when I dropped off the vehicle that I may have to pay out of pocket so I just needed a final number in order to budget correctly. After explaining his error to him over the phone and how it doesn't make sense to even begin to think he could operate his business this way he essentially told me he would waive part of the cost to fix the frame and all we needed to pay for was some other bogus charges that he invented. He then went off on some childish rant about how "in his 20 years of being in business" he's never had a customer like me. He then told me he didn't like my attitude and said he no longer wanted to fix the vehicle for us and that we need to come pick it up and pay in EXACT CASH ONLY. And when we came to pay the next day, he didn't even have change for us, he had to run out to his truck to find some silver change and pennies. His receptionist stated that if Kevin was constantly communicating with his customers then he would never get any work done. All that I wanted was a quote and maybe some light communication a couple times a month. Apparently that's beyond their scope of capabilities. After we paid Kevin and his receptionist, we walked outside to view the car and it was in pieces. He gave us all the pieces and left us on our own to reassemble the car even though we brought it to him in one piece all because he did unapproved work and didn't like being called out for it. We had to zip tie a bunch of the parts because they were hanging off and all the body clips were broken when they disassembled the car. We took the vehicle to a dealership and they stated that they could not find any obvious damage stemming from the accident and that the vehicle's frame was fine. They couldn't even figure out where repairs, if any, had been made. I don't have a lot of experience working with body shops and I am a patient man but if Kevin had just made attempts to communicate with his customers and hadn't worked on vehicles without authorization then we probably would not be in this situation. If I could give 0 stars I would. Completely unprofessional.
