      It appears that you and your friend have fallen victim to a car wrap scam; a very common scam that has been circulating throughout the country since 2016. The check you deposited was a counterfeit check that Wheatland Bank did not issue. It is unfortunate that your bank would lead you to believe the funds had been verified as Wheatland Bank would not have verified this counterfeit item. We would advise that you and or your friend report this to your local authorities.
