Cougar Ridge Apartments

Lived here about a year and absolutely hated it. MAKE SURE TO VIDEO THE PLACE BEFORE YOU PAY. They showed me a unit that was not the one I ended up with. Place had old urine from previous tenants, mold everywhere. I even put up a shower curtain on the inside wall of the shower because of how gross it was. Nightmare to park and my motorcycle was stolen with no care at all from management. No cameras unless its for their protection and water issues all the time. If you see this review, please do not move here.

They deserve zero stars. Only do business with these people if you want to get scammed and you want to waste thousands of dollars. The people who work here are no better than the managers and owners, they will blatantly lie to you and then deny that they've ever done it. They will blame you for everything, take no responsibility, and will take as much of your money as they can.

Here we go, I'm exhausted, and so frustrated, but I'm gonna do my best to warn people about cougar ridge. When I moved here the first thing we noticed is we paid rent, then! We paid it again 3 days later for that month. Still don't know why but they demanded it. We've had financial struggles, and cougar ridge hates me not afraid to admit it. The feeling is VERY mutual.I still paid my rent tho! My dogs escaped due to a faulty front door. They threatened to send my dogs to the pound, and called my pitbull Cooper, full of worms infested, and disgusting she's not she's very clean, and well cared for. But they've been extremely prejudiced, and rude. I have an old van, and I was cleaning it out by the trash on the property, a lady told me to take the trash somewhere else to sleep. They just come in whenever and mess with things and take a look, which means do the least they possibly can and leave, and never do any maintenance on the appts, there's molding building materials scattered around the property from when maintenance got to lazy to clean it up. Also! My appt inside has water damage everywhere, the door leaks, water literally runs down the door when it's raining, and slushy, it also doesn't close the whole way, I've been trying to fix it since I moved here like 8 months ago to no avail. All of my windows have black mold, especially my door that water just runs when wet and raining and whatnot, is really bad, I've called a couple times to maintenance, and nothing ever gets done. They seem to have a real pet issue, there's only this patchy black rock spread over like really muddy trashy areas that just gets disgusting, and the rock crevices just fill with dog poop. It makes it really difficult to get all the poop, and make it look clean, but the rock is super patchy, and looks like crap no matter what. Move in costs were so high, and its not worth the price, the property is just in disrepair, and nobody seems to care. For dog friendly people the people and the property are just anything but. My pitbull puppy gets just the worst of it I think from prejudice, they said she's " full of worms, disgusting, and infested. just sad really. Don't rent here!!! Staff is so rude, and unprofessional and just plain awful, don't don't it not worth the headache and loss of funds.

Everything is constantly under repair so you feel like you're living in an ongoing construction site. Constant water shutoffs or digging. There are hidden cleaning fees when moving out so get ready to lose at least $100 in your deposit and read the lease carefully. Maintenance forgot the move-in checklist when we first arrived and 1/3 of the to-do items said "return to complete later". Every maintenance request we put in looked like a botched DIY. They put the front door facing the wrong way and you could see through the doorknob hole to the outside so insulation is terrible. The fake wood laminate they installed inside was peeling up before it had even been 3 months. Our windows didn't have screens when we moved in. Those front porches and walkways on the second and third floor are just plywood as if some random person made it in their garage. Railings are rusting away or installed with a single screw at the bottom so don't lean too hard or you'll fall three floors. Sometimes speed isn't the only thing that matters with maintenance requests or building structures to live in. Overpriced to get the impression of an updated apartment, but it's just a fresh coat of paint and a facade. Also get in writing your move-in date, they made dozens of residents move in weeks late due to their own inability to turn around units.
