    7 MONTHS HORRIBLE PERSONAL EXPERIENCE OF LIVING AT THE WOODS AT ALDERWOOD My experience at this apartment complex has been nothing short of a nightmare, with serious concerns in crucial areas, from safety to management practices. My husband and I rented a two bed two bath unit in Bldg B. 1. MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN: Personally, I didnt find this apartment complex safe. They have PATROL OFFICERS monitoring the complex at night which speaks to the safety overall. 2. THEFT OF PACKAGE FROM THE MAILROOM: Our AC almost costing $550 got stolen from the mailroom. We had multiple packages stolen before too, but not of this significant value. So, I went to talk to the apartment management to which Judy Martinez (a staff at this building) responded that's not apartment's problem and suggested that I claim to my credit card saying that the package was never delivered. I asked her to check the security footage and they disagreed and recommended that I contact the cops. This forced me to file a police complaint as the apartment didn't cooperate at all to resolve this issue. Upon checking the security camera, the cops figured out that the package was stolen by a guest of one of the residents in the building. This speaks to how compromised your safety is living in this apartment. A package getting stolen at 6 AM in the morning by a resident's guest who was living in that building. I was so helpless and scared at the time because whoever stole the package knew our unit# and we could have been potentially attacked. We decided to withdraw the police complaint concerned for our own safety. 3. EXORBITANT MOVE-OUT CHARGES OF ALMOST $3500:They charged us an exorbitant charge when we moved out. I read reviews from previous tenants who encountered a similar issue. We moved out of this apartment on Nov 18, 2023. We left the apartment in good condition after living there for only 7 months. Exactly after a month, we received the final move-out disposition letter with a final move out charge of $2794.12 after deducting $800 deposit. This was CRAZY because my husband and I have lived in 4 different luxury apartments before this place and have excellent rental history. Up until we lived in this apartment complex, we have never encountered an insane move-out fee, apart from the standard charges for normal wear and tear and cleaning. How can living in a unit for 7 months cause this massive damage that they charged almost 3.5k for repairing??? The fees seemed unjustified, so I disputed it with the management. Thankfully, we had gathered all the photos and videos of the unit on the day of our move-out that we can use an evidence. We would have done a walk-through with the manager as a precautionary step had we known. HOW IS THIS NOT CRAZY? In my life-time of renting apartments in New York, Boston, and Washington we had never seen such a high move-out fee charged to us. I have also included the move-out charges to this review. I would have taken PHOTOS and VIDEOS OF EVERY APPLIANCE, DRAWERS, WINDOWS, DOORS, FLOORS, ETC. THE DAY I MOVED IN AND MOVED OUT. ALSO, WOULD HAVE DONE A WALK- THROUGH WITH THE MANAGEMENT. 2x2 Cleaning Fee $370. Partial Paint + Drywall Repair- $300 Replace Bedroom Blinds - $135.65 Replace Living Room Blinds - $190.70 Replace Patio Blind - $103.28 1 Baseboard Repairs - multiple - $50 Replace 22 Flooring Pieces + 2 Hours Labor - $700 Legal Fees - $640 Dishwasher Replacement - $934
