image Wow! Amazing experience start to finish. I felt so respected and secure throughout the entire process. Mark, the branch manager, had his eyes on our file the whole way. Really making us feel like he valued our business and was never too important or too busy to answer questions. He has assembled a team of friendly and competent go-getters that run like a well-oiled machine. These folks are definitely the VA Home Loan experts, and everything they told us they were able to back up. When they gave us a pre-approval it was solid, when they gave us a rate it was competitive, and they made the entire process look easy because they did all the hard work and all we had to do was sign the deal. That's how it should be! I know so many people that would sell their home and use it as an investment property, upgrading to another home, tomorrow if they knew how stress-free the process actually could be. Not only did Mark's team follow through on their word every step of the way, they stayed in communication leaving no surprises start to finish and even had us ready to close ahead of schedule. They got us in our home before Thanksgiving, and structured a buy-down agreement (ask them about this it's a great tool) where some of the closing costs were used to pre-pay our first two years of interest, saving us hundreds per month in interest off our payment, and giving us two years for the market to recover and refinance before being liable for the higher rate. If I could turn around tomorrow and buy another home as an investment property using these guy's services I absolutely would! And now's a great time to get Sellers to pay closing costs and even come off their price point. Ours did! Hope you will take my very good advice and go with Mark's team for your next purchase or refi. Even though they specialize in VA, they also do every other type of mortgage product including conventional and USDA. I asked. So if you are already at your VA loan limits but want a conventional loan to purchase an investment property, commercial, or something agricultural, I would still call this team first. They absolutely rolled out the red carpet for us where customer service is concerned, and they got the job done with no mistakes or delays. I was very impressed. Since they can service Nationwide applications, even when we move; Mark is our family go-to guy for lending. Pro tip: Ask them about how with VA you can disqualify your current mortgage payment from counting against your debt to income ratio for the next purchase by listing your current home with a property management team as a rental and start investing. I recently read this market has been appreciating at approximately 6%/yr. I can't wait to get in on that.

image Mark & his team are AMAZING! Mark is a shark when it comes to VA loans (in the best way!) Mark and his team were always available to answer any and all questions. They ALWAYS respond quickly and make the process less stressful. They always keep you informed every step of the way and they always have your best interest in mind and make sure EVERY little detail is taken care of. Will ALWAYS recommend them! Mark, Joshua & the rest of the team are great, honest, reliable, knowledgeable and polite!

image We approached VLG through a mutual acquaintance, our realtor. She had provided her personal recommendation. The good: we eventually succeeded, VLG got us through and we bought a house. The bad: Through much of the homebuying process from August to September, I was left out of the loop on important & time sensitive correspondence from Veterans Lending Group with every person we dealt with there. I was annoyed, and my spouse was offended and equally annoyed, so we both sent the team emails requesting that they please include me on future correspondence. They very generously cc'd me on most of the emails after that. Needless to say on the many pieces of paperwork that the buying and lending process necessitates, we were denoted as a married couple (however neither of us wished to legally change our names; apparently this was incomprehensible). We closed at the end of September, and every single dollar of our transaction throughout the process came directly out of *my* savings account (WA is a communal property state, so it is both of our money, but all of the $$$$ the agency, seller, etc received from us came from an account with only my name on it). Yet today I get home to see they sent a congratulatory gift with *only* my spouse's name on both the note and the gifts. We recognize it was intended to be a nice gesture and we did not expect a gift at all (successfully navigating the home buying process was plenty), but this feels like one final slap in the face. And hey, they sent two items, couldn't just one have had my last name???
