FRONT FOR THE KOREAN MAFIA? It has been alleged by some former guests that Emerald Best in Edmonds is a major money laundering front for Korean organized crime/ gambling interests. I wish to state for the record that I found nothing to support that theory during my stay there. Best of luck.

It's a typical motel. We got a room with 2 queen sized beds for 2 nights. The room was larger than expected and pretty clean. It was a decent stay. A tad confusing to pull into from Hwy 99. My issue is the deposit. I was fine with having to put the stated $100 deposit onto my credit card. The issue is they don't inform you about the extra $2.50 charge ($102.50 total charge) at the beginning of your stay. They also don't tell you it takes up to 5 business days to receive your deposit refund after check out until they've already charged your card. The $2.50 was kept by the motel. The guy at the front desk is not super friendly at all, bordering on an unapproachable demeanor, not rude thou. But he does what you'd expect, just no smiles and not friendly.
