TownePlace Suites by Marriott Bellingham

I'm a bonvoy member and this is one of the nicest stays I've had through my travels to different cities at Marriott hotels. Perfection! Comfort! Great value! Great breakfast! Wish I could have had a reason to stay more than one night.

Hotel and staff was great, but their pool is a toxic chlorinated torture room. They even have signs saying Dont open doors because so many people were trying to get some air. Poor ventilation and over chlorinating, eyes were burning and you could barely breathe. Several guests complained and I dont know if it was a random issue the day I was there or if this is standard.

We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite. Glad we had the 2 bedrooms as our neighbours constantly slammed their door, so we ended up watching TV in the bedroom. Could still hear the slamming door, though. Hotel might want to think about making the doors slower to close so they don't slam, or putting something down the side to muffle the noise. The pool was a nice size. Hot tub jets weren't working, but the water was beautifully hot. The breakfast could have had more choices and variety, but it was nice to have it included. The front desk staff were great, friendly and helpful, as was the server at the on site restaurant. We ordered nachos and quesadillas to share, thinking appetizer portions would be fairly small. Nope, they were huge. We took the quesadillas to go, and had them for dinner the 2nd night.
