Super happy to have a local foam store. I'd been looking for cushions to make a set of custom cushions and the ones online are either of unknown quality or uncut. Very happy with the foams (with batting) that I got. Now that I've found this place, there is a number of projects that I can take on!

This is the best kept secret on the Eastside. I've needed several foam products over the past 7 years (large bed wedges, a special angled leg wedge, special-order seat cushions) and both Walter and Matt have gone to great lengths to help. And, thankfully, they never do any kind of hard sell: just the facts and descriptions of what they have and can order. They've special-ordered and special-cut whatever I've needed. I've recommended this shop to so many people that I thought I'd write something more formal here.

Went to the Bellevue location today around 11:50am I was sitting in the my vehicle no longer than 2min on the phone with my sick grandfather about a mattress I was about to purchase for him and some guy with a long ponytail comes out the store bangs on my driver side window and told me to move my car!! i informed him that I was there to buy a mattress and he told me to move my car because it was customer parking. this guy was very angry and aggressive!! I will never come to that store a day in my life to buy anything!! worse experience ever and the company should be ashamed to hire someone like that.

Great customer service. Brought in my terribly soft sofa cushion. Tested the three different density cushions in the store, they measured mine, I ordered the firmest for the three that I need to change out. I'll be coming back in a week and they will change out all three for me. Reasonable prices!

THAT'S CELL FOAM, NOT CELL PHONE!I stopped in today at the Friendly Foam Shop(FFS) in Bellevue to get material for rubber/foam spacer parts for a vacuum cleaner. Lo and behold, it looks like they may actually have the exact material I needed as I bought a 2 ft.² by 1/8 inch thick sheet of what Matt called "closed cellular foam" for $6.00. I'll have to use one of my old spacers as a template to hand cut out new spacers. Or I could have the shop do it for$75/hour. But since I only needed a few spacers, and since I have a huge sheet (that's the smallest size they sell) to make a few small spacers, I figured I will try to cut them out myself. But if not, I may have to have the shop do it after all. I did not ask Matt what their minimum charge is for cutting them if it only takes a fraction of an hour to do so. (stay tuned for update).PERFECT HAND MADE QUALITY FOR FEW VSPRECISION MACHINE CUTTING FOR MANYMatt, who was indeed, very friendly, explained that all I need is an X-Acto knife, or a good pair of scissors, or a good cutting blade to hand cut them out myself. I will try that first. But since the purpose of this spacer is to keep the rapidly spinning vacuum cleaner brushroll from scraping against the sole plate on the bottom and the wind tunnel shroud on the top, it needs to be cut perfectly (see photo). Note: there is no precision machine cutting here. Even they do it by hand. But they are far more experienced at it. But even if they charge, say, only for a half an hours work ($37.50 plus tax) to cut out my spacers, and even if they eliminate the brushroll, scraping problem, I have to ask myself "Is that old Shark Rotator vacuum worth it?" Another thing, what if I needed thousands of these spacers? Then 75 bucks an hour would be worth it! Handcrafted, precision is great for low production. But machine precision is needed for mass production!NOT JUST ABOUT OBSCURE SPACERSFFS, though a small shop, nevertheless, has all your foam needs, enough to make one foam at the mouth (see photos). Example, I asked Matt how much a memory foam topper would be for my twin XL (38" x 80") mattress. He quoted $283 for a 2 inch thickness and $425 for a 3 inch thickness. I don't know how those prices compare with those at mattress stores. But I did hear it on good authority today that 3 inch thickness foam toppers are now being phased out, if not already unavailable, at mattress stores. Enter FFS, for those people who want that extra inch of memory foam thickness, or whatever other obscure foam application they have.
