I had a referral from my dentist for Dr. Choi for a root canal. I admit I was nervous but his team put me at ease. Front desk folks were helpful and friendly. The waiting area was nice and procedure room comfortable and clean. I filled out some forms and then the dental assistant came out and got me. The procedure while long was smooth. Dr. Choi drew on a small whiteboard what would be happening and explained the details along the way asking me how I was doin.  His assistant was great as well and made sure I was comfortable. If I ever have to have a root canal again (please no!) I would come back.  A great experience.

This is my second procedure with Dr. Choi. As was the first my second procedure was flawless, I appreciate it talk to Choi's attention to detail and willingness to discuss the full procedure. I would highly recommend Dr. Choi and his team.

Dr. Choi is the best!
I went to see Dr Choi last Friday for a root canal on a tooth that had previously cracked and had a crown put on. The tooth definitely needed to be treated as pressure had began to build up in it and was causing me pain in my upper and lower jaw. I've had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Choi before and in addition to being very good at what he does, he is just a very sweet and personable guy. I was actually looking forward to seeing him again for my root canal!
The procedure on Friday went great, and he confirmed that once he was inside the tooth, it was clear that it needed treatment. He told me to call his cell phone if I had any problems or questions over the weekend. Unfortunately, once the anesthetic wore off, I was still having pain in my upper jaw and teeth. I waited to see if it would resolve on its own, as I know that sometimes just having dental work done can leave you sore for a little while. That night I had bad pain, and the next day was no better. By Sunday morning I knew that the pain was only getting worse that that I should try to get in to see Dr. Choi again ASAP. I called the office where I got his cell number from the voicemail. I felt guilty bothering him on the weekend, but went ahead and gave him a call. He was so kind when I told him about the pain and was glad that I let him know about it. He asked me a few questions and said that he wanted to see me the next day (Monday.) He actually scheduled a time for me himself, and let me know that his front desk staff would call to confirm with me in the morning. He was so empathetic and reassuring that I knew I had made the right decision to call him. That night, I was very glad I had called as I had the worst tooth pain I've ever had, and ended up having to keep an ice pack in my mouth to be able to fall asleep.
Dr. Choi's staff called me first thing in the morning and confirmed my appointment for later in the day. I assumed the appointment would only be to assess the situation and that I would need to schedule another time to come in for the actual treatment (as is standard with root canals.) When I arrived later in the day, Dr. Choi showed deep concern, and was eager to figure out what was going on. It turned out that in addition to the tooth on the bottom that needed the root canal, I had a tooth on the same side on the upper that was in the process of dying. He believes that the nerves had actually died the previous night, when my pain was at its worst. He was able to actually preform the root canal right then and there, and I felt immediate relief! I could tell he felt bad that he hadn't caught it earlier when I had been in before, but there was no way to know that I had two problematic teeth at the same time! Especially because pain refers from top to bottom and vice-versa, which makes it really difficult to fully identify the problem tooth.
I can't praise Dr. Choi and his staff highly enough. They are all very friendly and professional with great "bedside" manner. Dr. Choi is a real mensch and a wonderful doctor. I will recommend him enthusiastically to anyone in need of an excellent endodontist!

Should you EVER require an endodontic procedure, ask your dentist to refer you to Endo NW. Kristie (sp), who answered my desperate call, could hear the pain in my voice and was incredibly reassuring and kind. She found me a spot the same day, and told me that Dr. Choi would take care of me. She explained that I might need two appointments, but that he would certainly make sure I was pain-free right away.The office is lovely and tranquil, and I was greeted immediately with kindness and courtesy. After filling out a few forms, I was taken back to the exam room by Alex. Alex is amazingly skilled and intuitive. She explained clearly and compassionately what exactly would be happening and took care of all the details of settling me in.When Dr. Choi came in shortly after, he listened attentively to what had been going on. He gave me his idea of what he suspected had happened to create this pain in my renegade tooth, and also drew a diagram on a whiteboard to make sure I was informed of what the treatment area looked like and what the procedure entailed.Dr. Choi was incredibly efficiently and skillful, from the moment he applied the anesthesia (which is usually the worst part for me, but it was flawless) to the cleaning out of the roots of the renegade tooth, to the completion of the healing process. Quick, painless, and even very interesting! He communicated clearly each step that was about to occur. On my other side was the incredibly competent Alex, who could not have been better at her part of the teamwork. They were like two superheroes who worked together to save me from a horrible fate (the painful tooth!).I could not recommend this group of professionals more highly ~ Kristie, Dr. Choi, Alex, and other folks I saw busily and happily doing their jobs ~ and I encourage you to keep Endo NW in your file! Here's hoping you'll never need advanced dental procedures, but if you do, it is the place to go.(How I am not seeing another Yelp review for this practice is surprising! Dr. Choi is one of Seattle Met's Top Dentists in 2014 and 2015. He is trained at top universities as well.)
