Started off with courteous valet service from Rex and Julian. They were super friendly and gave Reccs for places To go. Got beach front room. Great service from beginning to end. Side note. Research where youre staying before you book. This isnt a traditional hotel!

Bottom line up front- Ive been in and out of VA Beach every month for work for over a decade now, and I can honestly say that this is the worst hotel in the area code. Im from Richmond, VA; and Ive stayed at almost every hotel on that oceanfront throughout my lifetime. This place was an absolute sham, in every sense of the word. Little to no space in the rooms (I had a king size oceanfront view). Cheap fold out chairs. No side tables. Tiny, kid-sized sink in the entry way. The bathroom was pretty nice, but the trim on the bottom of the glass shower door was broken; and every time the shower was on for more than 2 minutes the entire bathroom would flood.
I have stayed at Marriott and Hilton brand hotels (Im a Bonvoy/Diamond member for both brands, respectively) all over the country and this was by far the biggest let down of them all. I worked at a Hilton throughout my entire college career (I know good hotels and the service industry). I am rarely one to leave bad reviews. But trust me people, this place is not it. Unless youre a 21-year old frat boy/college couple who likes meeting random 50+ year old non-resident drunks at the bar.
I know Va beach like the back of my hand, and this place was an absolute debacle from the jump. Common areas are extremely appealing to the eye, but they are not enjoyable. To end things on a positive note- I will say that the front desk, valet, and bar staff were awesome. They were extremely helpful, fast, and very nice during every interaction. This review does not reflect the hotel staff at all. I feel like the Marriott/Moxy brand has set them up for failure.
Noteworthy details: Housekeeping only makes your bed and takes out the trash. Theres a restock cabinet on each floor where the guests can go grab towels, toiletries, etc. in order to restock their own room. Doesnt seem very logical.
