Homewood Suites by Hilton Virginia Beach/Norfolk Airport

My kids and I stayed after our home flooded. Every single staff member just loved on my babies. They made my kids feel so special. Specifically the woman who runs breakfast, and the gentleman who worked at the desk a few nights. They definitely eased my anxiety of a chaotic situation. Unfortunately this hotel has seen better days and is in desperate need of a deep clean.

At the Breakfast Bar in the morning-----my wife can only drink DeCafe Coffee-----I can drink any kind----when I arrived at the Breakfast Bar----there was no DeCafe Coffee----I spoke to the young woman what was attending to the Breakfast Bar and told her that my wife can only drink DeCafe----She retorted ---we are out of that now----she will have to drink Regular. So I proceeded to fill up the two cups and I got cups filled with coffee grinds. I show the coffee grinds in the cups to the young woman and she told me that I should take a seat over there and be patient. It was going to take about 10 minutes to make more coffee. Unfortunately I had to be somewhere and could not wait. The hotel employee made no effort to make me feel like a guest----the entire experience left a bad taste in my mouth. It was the way she said things------I was frankly offended.

Family was placed here while our house was under repair from water damage. The Customer Service was atrocious. The hotel did not have towels for my family. At all. They were told they could wait a few hours for some to be cleaned and a few hours later they still did not have any. When my wife asked a third time they were treated with malcontent and rudeness... for wanting to bathe her children. There was also only two normal sized bed pillows in the entire room. My family was told there are no extra pillows and if they wanted more they should go to Target. It's not my family's fault you didn't wash your towels and enough linens and pillows should be provided in every room. Especially if your website claims it supports that many people in that room (needed to support three people). Lastly the pool was beyond gross. It was cloudy with fluids of unknown origins floating on the surface. Stay away from this place.

Mil & Govies beware. This hotel is not worth your per diem. In the over 25 countries I have ever visited or lived in, this is by far the worst hotel I have seen in terms of cleanliness. While Im sure my room flooding was a unique event, both rooms I stayed in were very dirty and in a state of general disrepair. Several military members had their cars broken into during their stay, and I think the only reason to consider this place is if you have dogs because it would be impossible to tell if they did any damage. The only good thing I have to say about this hotel is Stephanie (I hope I am spelling that correctly). She was working at least five days a week and was pulling far more than her share of the workload. She worked extremely hard in the breakfast area and I can only hope that her dedication is recognized because its rare to see someone putting in as much effort alone as she was.
