Pelican Watch Apartments

My husband an I were here for two years it really is a great neighborhood and veryyyyy quiet. But I will say our second year an not even our second year honestly some of our first year the minute we moved in started having problems with our upstairs neighbor. He didnt like the fact that we played music now I will say at first the music was a bit loud we turned it down a their still was a problem. Neighbor went to the office I dont know how many times an complained which is what I think may have lead to them not wanting to renew our lease. We complained about him, he was purposely stomping all around his apartment even knocked our light fixture in the kitchen out bc he was that angry that he heard our music hell even our tv. The walls are very thin so youre going to hear things. We heard our neighbors in our beadroom like they were in our room clear as day. Tried talking to the guy none of it worked so yeah as a black couple they dont want to hear your side you may think they care but honestly they dont. Its kind of messed up bc I reallly did love it out there. We asked what was the reason for not renewing they told my husband they didnt have to tell him why my jaw dropped I couldnt believe it but honestly we knew why, it was the neighbor that had been complaining about every little thing about us.

Young people and POC please beware. Front Office staff was kind, but property manager/owner definitely gives off prejudice energy. If you are POC and young (were 21) please dont waste your time or money applying here. We applied and both have above 640 credit scores, make more than the 2.5x the rent, and were denied almost immediately after. Woman who called didnt even provide reasoning and stated we just dont meet the criteria and that they cant really tell us details. Go somewhere where youre actually welcomed and valued.

I have been in my apartment since 2018 and can honestly say, Im not going anywhere! I absolutely love it here and tell anyone looking for a place to check for openings. Even with the rental increase ($40) its still so adorable for Virginia Beach! I feel like Im living in an actual house, 3 porches, a private entrance, giant kitchen and rooms, vaulted ceilings, and its so quiet here. I did luck out with an upstairs end unit. My daughter just started at TCC and says it feels like she lives on campus. I cant say enough good things about this place!
