    Finding a good mechanic is no easy task and when you do find one that is knowledgeable, has reasonable repair costs and provides great customer service you want to keep them. KAZ Automotive used to be that place. Not sure what has transpired or if under new ownership but the customer service at KAZ has now decreased For example, if a customer comes into your shop and says, my car wont start it may need a new starter. You dont just arbitrarily replace the starter without doing a diagnostic first because it could end up being something simple as a fuse or bad battery. So why should a customer be responsible for all the costs associated with a new starter because the failure of the mechanic doing a diagnostic on the system. Your shop managers excuse is well, you said it wouldnt start, it may need a new starter so we replaced the starter. Most customers are not ASE certified thats why they come into your shop. What makes it even worse is that the owner is not even available to contact only through email and then they do not respond.

    Probably the very best service I have had from any automotive repair facility BAR NONE! After an initial misunderstanding and unsuccessful restoration attempt, Kaz Automotive DROVE THEIR TOW TRUCK TO MY HOUSE TO BRING MY VEHICLE IN FOR ONE LAST TRY. Success!! I am now cruising around in a fully functioning 1986 F-150! All work was completed within EXACTLY the original price quoted. I will recommend Kazs to all friends and acquaintances. When youre there, make sure to ask for Chris. Hes a top shelf professional who will get the job done right. Thank you Kaz Automotive!!!

    Kaz Automotive was my go to shop for my car needs. I had inspections to a tail light replacement. Future Customers Beware! I went there on 11/28/23 for my state inspection and I was told I failed and two parts needed to be replaced. Which were front bulb lights and a front strut which I was told it was leaking. As I was preparing to make the arrangements for repair. ..I checked all my lights.... they worked. I was shocked. I went to another shop to confirm the situation and I passed inspection today . Do Better Kaz or you will continue to lose customers.

Shelby Mustang,With all due respect, We need a real name or way to contact you. We are trying to figure out who you are and what transpired with your vehicle. We would love to speak with you about your concerns but have no way to do so. Please call or come by so we can try and get the matter resolved. Regarding your example, It is our policy to perform a diagnosis on any problem before just changing parts. If a customer declines the diagnosis and is persistent with their self-diagnosis or diagnosis from another shop, on occasion, we may change the part to attempt to satisfy the customer. If this were to be done, it is made perfectly clear that we are not responsible if the problem is not fixed as we did not diagnosis or recommend the repair. We are sorry to hear that you feel our customer service has declined as we strive to do our very best to take care of all our customers. We have been under the same ownership and manager for many years and would never just arbitrarily replace parts, but since you have been coming to us enough to indicate you have noticed a change, you already know this and know our manager has been with us a long time. As for the ownership not returning emails, That would have to be an oversight if that happened. We take our customer base very seriously and sincerely apologize. We would like to get to the bottom of this. Something obviously went wrong somewhere. Hopefully it was a misunderstanding or miscommunication, and we can rectify it once you contact us. We hope to hear from you soon.

Manny,We discussed this in person and you were shown in the State Police handbook why your vehicle failed. You read it yourself. I am sure it is frustrating and confusing as a customer when a different inspector at another shop passed your vehicle. All inspectors are licensed by the VA State Police and can be reprimanded or lose their license for improperly passing or failing a vehicle. If you still feel that your vehicle should not have failed, please call the State Police and they will meet you here or at the other shop to determine if the vehicle should have passed or failed.

Hello Jess T, Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for your inconvenience and frustration. For the record, State Inspectors are regulated by the State Police and can get into trouble and potentially lose their inspector’s license for failing or not failing vehicles that warrant it. In this case it is hard to say why the bulb wasn’t working at the time of the inspection. Maybe it was the bulb, or a loose connection that shifted during driving (and yes, this does happen), or possibly just a mistake on the inspector’s part. As for the leaking strut, that is a discretionary call for the inspector. If he feels it is leaking enough to fail, it is his job to fail it. If another inspector feels that it passes, he has to put his name on the passing sticker and stand behind it. I am confident that ill intent was not why this happened and hope you will return in the future. If you would like to contact the State Police and have them meet you at our location to take a look at the strut to see if it is leaking or not, please do so. We want you to have a piece of mind.
