Although the staff are wonderful and kind, there are numerous problems with how the facility is operated. The dining room is consistently running out of food: basics like milk, lettuce and vanilla ice cream. Daily menus offer a special meal and dessert. Again, they consistently run out before meal time ends. Before the facility was bought out by RUI, residents gathered in the entry room to work on puzzles together. These have been removed despite numerous requests to return them. Daily exercise class is held in a room too small to accommodate the residents and there are not enough weights for all who attend. I truly hope that these problems can be addressed quickly and I find it very disingenuous to read 5 star reviews written by staff members.

Elanc at tuckahoe has such amazing staff especially in the kitchen. Most of the members including the executive chef, Octavia, have made an excellent impression on not only me but the residents as well. The culinary department are quick on their feet and are very kind and thoughtful of everyone around them.

No support for department heads when they took possession. Promises. Dept of HR gave 5 star review and other department heads on Google review.

Its worth noting that many of the reviews for Elance/Retirement Unlimited Incorporated are coming from their own employees, casting doubt on their credibility. In fact, the last 4 are from their own kitchen staff. What a bad look in general, to force employees to write reviews. Big yikes! Shame on you! The transition from Anthology to Elance has been extremely chaotic, resulting in a significant departure of staff. Unfortunately, resident care appears to be secondary to superficial priorities, such as installing a red carpet and resorting to baking bread only during scheduled tours to mask odors. The lack of contingency plans for simultaneous employee absences is concerning, especially when it comes to providing adequate care for residents. Suggesting that one aide rotate between two floors may even raise legal concerns. Exercise caution when considering this facility for loved ones with care needs as it currently falls short of expectations.
