As a Hilton Honors member, I was quite disappointed with this hotel. While it is in a great location (accessible to the highway and many stores), the rooms are very outdated. Old carpets and the bathroom was not cleaned at all (toilet and bathtub). I requested to change the room but was told that all of the rooms probably looked the same by the front desk staff.

We have been Hilton Diamond members for a very long time and stay at Hiltons across the globe. This Hilton Garden Inn in Hampton VA on Power Plant Road was a huge disappointment and shock. Dont expect a clean room, nor room service between days, nor a courteous manager or knowledgeable desk staff. The only consistency we experienced was the dining staff. They were very polite and helpful. Our server was the most professional of all the staff. The manager could take some training from her server. We wont ever book at this location again.

Dont stay here unless you want to experience rude customer service where staff belittles/dismisses you and makes backhanded RACIST remarks for their mess up. Checked into my room over the weekend and staff had concerning security issues and gave someone else key cards to my room without checking their ID. The other guests tried to open my room door and I had to run and slam the door shut before they got in. Imagine if I wasnt there. When calling the front desk about the issue, the manager was passive aggressive and belittled me and the situation at hand stating it was due to them training a new staff member. I want it to be clear that training new staff is not the problem. The problem here is the hotel staff not doing their due diligence and checking IDs for first and last name on the reservation. The manager said all of YOU people have the same last name - backhanded racist remark because there were a few reservations with the same last name that night. To top it off, the manager said you can just check out and stay somewhere else and dismissed me and my safety concerns entirely. That does not excuse the fact that front desk staff need to still check for IDs when someone is checking in before just giving keys out. The icing on the cake? The person they gave key cards to my room was staying at an entirely different hotel. The manager ended up transferring me to their general manager and all they could offer was Hilton honors points because according to them, I paid up front and was not entitled to any price adjustment or refund. I never asked for a refund, but asked why this all had happened. Bottom line, management needs to do better. More trainings, hire staff that actually want to work there and not belittle or dismiss customers, and dont make backhanded racist remarks. I will never be returning to this establishment.
