DoubleTree by Hilton Front Royal Blue Ridge Shadows

For a hilton, I guess I expected a little better. We had no idea that the hotel was under construction, which had no big deal to us. The pool area was pretty gross. There is a dehumidifier that is not working at all, creating a small flooded area with mold and algae growing in it making it smell bad. The hot tub did not have working jets or filtration. The bathrooms are not directly connected to the pool room. The room we had was great, comfy beds, nice big bathroom area, over looking the golf course which was entertaining, coffee maker and mini fridge with freezer. The breakfast that you pay extra for was a minimal continental style breakfast, not bad for being cheaper than most breakfast places.

The location is beautiful and convenient being off of the highway. The pool was absolutely disgusting. The jacuzzi jets werent working and had nasty hairs and slimy stuff floating in it. Towels and trash left on the floor with nobody to clean it up. The room was meh. Outdated and musty. The a/c system is horrible it would shut off after reaching a temperature and stay off until it got too hot. Shower had old washrag left in it. They were doing construction all throughout the hotel and we heard banging directly above our room and blasting music all of our stay. It started 8am. We were happy to check out early. Definitely not a Hilton experience.

Safety: Good part of town. Newer buildings. Safe atmosphere. Walkability: Restaurant in building, need a car to go elsewhere. About a mile from shopping centers, fast food Restaurants aplenty. Food & drinks: Available in house, or restaurant in building. Noteworthy details: Not crowded, friendly staff. Small town atmosphere.

We had a great stay here. The hotel is being remodeled and we look forward to visiting again next year.

They are doing construction 8am til 8pm. We needed a long rest and we are not a morning person. Unfortunately, we are forced to get up at 8am. The website was not transparent with the length of time and all. Rooms: The room is NOT worth the price. AND not considerate with us whos trying to rest on our vacation.
