I understand your concerns, but I suspect you may not know the details of the recent incidents. We left the Repair Order with the details on the seat when we were done, but maybe you never saw them.--------------------------------------------Like you, we were disappointed that the quick disconnect hose came off. It is possible that we simply put it on wrong or poorly. After redoing it and investigating it thoroughly, it appeared the pipe that the hose is connecting to is not allowing as secure a fastening as it is designed to do (maybe due to corrosion of the pipe etc.) This is a poorly designed, known problematic connector to begin with and beyond that- the hose/connector assembly does not slip on and snap on easily as it is supposed to.--------------------------------------------After it came off, was towed in, and after reinstalling the hose, although it was far more difficult to push on than it should be (because of the pipe, I assume) however when tugging on it, it seemed to be secure!But yet since it did come off for you I wanted to prevent another recurrence. -------------------------------------------The pipe would cost a lot to replace, as it is buried under other parts, and I knew the budget was tight, so we zip tied and safety wired the hose on so it cannot come off again. (There is no way to use a normal hose clamp on this style. We zip-tied/wired around the hard plastic tee of the assembly and over to the metal bracket for the pipe, so chafing should not be too much of a problem. It's not the best solution but the only one for the current budget, outside of parking the car and saving for a thorough repair.)------------------------------------------------Sometimes reliability is not 100% what it could be when there are budgetary constraints to work around, but we try to help people however we can. -------------------------This we did happily at no charge, rather than saying you HAD to do the labor intensive pipe for a proper repair. And we repaired it the night it was towed in after hours, and it was ready the next morning.----------------------- We took care of you well, did the best we could, and explained on the repair order all about the pipe, its expense to do properly, and the "work-around" we did to keep you on the road. Maybe you never saw the paperwork.---------------------------------------------------By the way, the time prior to this visit- it was the very same hose that broke. There was no money to replace the hose at the time, which was swollen and oil soaked, so I cut the end off and reinstalled it to get by for the moment. L.P. knew it was a temporary fix. ----------------------------------------------------It lasted two months or so, but started leaking again, and then we replaced the hose assembly. That new one is the one that popped off for some reason, possibly the pipe. ----------------------------------------------------[Incidentally, all of these hoses should be replaced, and the pipe, and the oil leak repaired so it won't wreck the new hoses. (Oil softens hoses) These should be done for normal reliability, along with other needs that are listed on the two repair orders we've had for this vehicle so far. The oil leak is likely a rear main engine seal, another huge job. (Though the Bar's rear seal stop leak seems to be helping that) I wish I could have looked it over before its recent purchase. I would have told you about the leak and the expense before you bought the car.------------------------------------------------------Nobody's perfect, least of all me and the technicians I've employed over the years. Occasionally we fail to diagnose or repair things perfectly. But the current staff tries unusually hard to do an excellent job. -------------------------------------------------------I am sorry you had this problem, and again, I can understand your disappointment and thought you deserved a thorough response.
