It's a well located, ample and clean venue. All the staff is really kind, helpful and knowledgeable. I'm a new patient still, but so far I would totally recommend it.

Highly recommended!!  I just had the best experience at Dentistry by Design.  I lost a filling and had put off getting it fixed because I didn't have a dentist in the area.  After my tooth started bothering me, I called this morning, they had a cancellation and took me right in.  The staff was professional & kind! In just 50 minutes I had X-rays done and had a new filling!  The dentist was gentle, explained my options, and was reasonably priced!  Great experience "for a dentist office"!

I lived in Virginia 7 years ago and saw this dentist. I remember because this was the dentist who looked at my wisdom tooth that grew in sideways and all the way in the back of my mouth and told me there was decay because I couldn't reach it to clean it. He wanted me to keep the tooth because there was no reason he saw to get rid of it and instead of taking it out, cleaned it up. Fast forward to today, I had to miss a days worth of work and saw a dentist the same day because of the same tooth, which is infected. It didn't matter how often I brushed, if I flossed and did mouth wash, it still decayed because as he said I couldn't reach it and he did not want to pull the tooth. I wouldn't recommend this dentist to anyone to prevent any damage. Also I want to let people know, that instead of educating me about how to take care of my teeth because my parents for some reason lacked the know how or time to teach me, made me feel horrible, like it was my fault my teeth were bad. I didn't see another dentist for 7 years because I felt so bad about my mouth. The new dentist I am seeing and the dental hygienist took the time to teach me proper flossing, like telling me to scrape the outside of my teeth, and how battery operated toothbrushes can be worse than a manual toothbrush. Instead of passing judgement, and taking the time to better myself I felt worse and it created more harm than good. I am now reversing the damage in my mouth, slowly but surely and seeing a dentist more frequently because I know I can trust my new dentist to teach me and share what is good for me rather than me feeling the way I felt before.

OK so I never thought I'd be reviewing a dentist on Yelp but I am moved to do so because I am so impressed by my experience with Dr Akeel and his staff. Let me begin by saying I HATE dentist visits. In fact, I may have a bit of PTSD from my previous experiences. Had all my appointments been here, I don't think I would view dentist appointments any differently than haircuts or massages - yea, they are that good. The hygienist (Carrie) has a gentle touch and cleaned my neglected teeth without any pain or discomfort. Dr Akeel gave me a thorough exam and said, 'see you in six months.'  You know what? He will. I don't dread dentists anymore:-)
