The smell of smoke is unbearable on the first floor. Called the front desk/maintenance at least once a day for 2 weeks and they did nothing about it.

Do you love the smell of dirty sewage in your apartment? How about your toilet literally bubbling, foaming, and overflowing onto your bathroom floor? Or your apartment having THREE separate leaks/floods in the first month of move in. If you said yes- Ballston Place is the complex for you! I've been living here for about three years now and the maintenance issues are terrible and almost always never fully resolved. I moved floors to a different unit and the plumbing issues that I am having were reported to management by the previous tenant and they still did not fix the issue. It seems like maintenance is extremely understaffed here. However, I have nothing bad to say about the front desk staff who are always friendly and professional. I also love the location of this building (which is why I've stayed for so long). After about 5 incidents of our toilet overflowing onto the floor and making the bathroom smell like an outhouse, my boyfriend and I feel like it's time to find a new place to live when our lease is up.

Maintenance will enter your apartment without notice even when you specified that no entry without notice. After notifying the management of such incident, the manager Eliana called back with an attitude and blamed the tenant for not writing it down on the descriptive for no entry, despite there is an option for you to tick for no entry. She claimed that a different system was used in the apartment (ballston place) from their parent company Akelius, but the only way to report maintenance is to Akelius. No apology and no plans to get this issue resolved for future tenants but instead reprimand tenants for information given to them but they did not receive because of their own system error. The only saving grace for this apartment was Karen who is really friendly and helpful during the tour and prior to move in. But be warned, it goes downhill from there.
