Sunshine Assisted Living Facility

I highly recommend Sunshine Assisted Living if you are looking for a caring and loving assistance home for your relative. When my mom fell and became ill there was no way my sister and I we could care for her. I feel so lucky that we found Tigi and Sunshine Assisted Living through a recommendation from one of moms nurses. Tigi and the Sunshine staff were amazing and took such wonderful, compassionate care of my mom. Mom wasnt able to do much at all, but they made sure she was bathed and dressed every day and got out of bed and into a chair, which mom greatly appreciated. They took excellent care of her health and medical needs and fed her wonderful meals (that made my stomach growl when I was visiting). They really watched out for her to make sure she stayed as healthy as possible, alerting us whenever anything seemed off and helping address potential issues before they became serious problems. I believe their vigilance and excellent care saved moms life soon after she moved in. Even though mom was incapacitated and couldnt join in the regular household activities they always made sure she felt cared for and involved. They read to her, played music for her, and celebrated birthdays and holidays with her. It was really a great comfort to me and my sister to know how well mom was being cared for at Sunshine. It was a difficult time for us, and while Tigi and the Sunshine staff were taking care of mom they also were taking care of my sister and me too by giving us peace of mind. I will always be grateful to everyone at Sunshine!

It gives me great pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Tigist W & Sunshine. Tigist is an incredible medical professional. Tigist is dedicated, professional, experienced, educated, and loving. Tigist took in my mother Pat under her wing and gave her amazing care for the last 5 months of her life. I dont know what I would have done, if it werent for Tigist. She provided the most loving and attentive care anyone could ask for during a hospice situation. Prior to Tigist taking over her care, my mother was originally in my home, with 24x7 caretakers who did a great job along with assistance from the regular hospice folks visiting who also provided great care, but it was still hard having this all in my home while my spouse and I also worked out of our house. It wasnt until I moved my mother to Tigists that I realized she could receive even better care with Tigist than when she was under my watchful eye at my house, where I even worked out of my home and was able to help or oversee the aides. I found out about Tigist from the hospice nurse, and I am so grateful, he had recommended her to us. While I was really happy with the caretakers, it was no match to what Tigist was able to do. She was not only on top of my moms medical needs, but she also gave care to my mother like a family member wouldve given her. My mother was incapacitated by her medical condition, but Tigist got her up and in a chair every day and ensured she had interaction. My mother received incredible meals and love and attention. Her record-keeping and knowledge were critical to my mothers care. Tigist also let me visit every day and because of that I was able to also see how she treats all people and situations outside of my mother. I was able to see her deal with the hospice aides and provide them instruction, work alongside the hospice nurses, pharmacies, doctors and able to observe how she works with others. She pointed out issues and concerns and in one case, actually saved her life. She made sure there was action taken and resolution. Tigist is organized, observant, has an extensive medical background, able to provide advice and guidance but most of all provides love and care. I would not hesitate to send anyone, under any situation, to her for care and will share her name with anyone I know in the situation where they need a loved one cared for. My mother was completely bedridden and sometimes difficult to communicate with, having a brain injury, hearing and eyesight problems. Tigist could still communicate with her, and my mother lit up around her. I would not hesitate to share her name with anyone, and the world needs more people like Tigist. After seeing how she took care of my mother, she will now be a lifelong friend of mine. She is ethical, honest, straight-forward and the world would be a better place if there were more people like Tigist in it who care for humans and give them the best life possible under difficult circumstances.

Sunshine Assisted Living was home to my mother for over two years until her passing. The house is clean, well appointed and provides for a very comfortable living experience. This new home provides a rear deck which was nice to have during the warm weather. Each resident had a private room which they could make their own. They get three meals a day in the eat-in kitchen. Every meal is home cooked with fresh ingredients, is well balanced and nutritious. Somehow Mom was always able to save room for coffee and dessert! Residents become family here. Extended family is encouraged to visit as much as possible too. It was always nice to sit and visit with mom and the ladies during lunch. When it was unsafe to visit in person at the height of COVID the caregivers accommodated regular FaceTime and phone calls. They even helped set up a special Zoom call or two with family from up and down the East coast so we could all celebrate a special event with Mom! I cant thank Tigit and her caregivers enough for all they did to care for and keep Mom and her housemates safe during the lockdown. Sunshine treats their residents with dignity and respect and you couldnt find more loving and attentive care than if you provided it yourself. The staff was always attentive to basic hygiene, daily meds, dietary restrictions etc, and it was a relief to know that if a medical emergency occurred Mom was in good hands. I highly recommend Sunshine Assisted Living for anyone looking for care for their loved one. It was the perfect home for my Mom during her twilight years and we were truly blessed to have the expertise, love and support of Tigit and the Sunshine family.

My mother was with Sunshine Assisted Living for about six months while my father was preparing to move across the country and after he moved. We were able to find a place in Oregon quicker than expected, just a couple months after he moved. We trusted Tigist and her staff completely to take care of Mom while we were across the country. On my first visit, I was prepared for the worst. I was beyond impressed. We showed up without notice. The house was immaculate and every subsequent visit it was clean and the food always smelled and looked delicious. My mother was happy and extremely well cared for. If we could have moved the entire house with us we would have. Thank you for taking such good care of my mom! If you are looking for a lovely home environment and amazingly caring staff who will become like family, you've found the right spot.

My mother was a resident at for 3 years and received exceptional care. We were incredibly lucky to have found them and had a wonderful experience. The owner, Tigi, is patient, kind, and full of energy. She, Ana, and the rest of the staff go above and beyond to not only provide care to the residents, but to get to know each resident on a personal level. Tigi, as a nurse with many years of experience, is extremely knowledgeable about medical issues. The staff is also incredibly attentive. My mother had two medical emergencies while she was there, and the staff immediately recognized the issue and got her appropriate care; they also nursed her back to health during both of these recoveries. The house was always spotless and homey. They served delicious, home-cooked, healthy meals, which meant my mother never lost her appreciation for good food and was always well nourished. Tigi was always so welcoming to our family, having even our extended family (children, grandchildren, great grandchildren) over for holidays and birthday parties. Sunshine Assisted Living is truly a special place.
